| Palardy and Darr Spring Performance? Any updates on how those two are doing this Spring? I have a feeling these two might be the difference in a game or two this year and have not really shown to be the top recruits they were brought in as. I hope this year they get over the hump.
Any news? |

| Yeah. They probably will be the difference in a game or two this year.
Hopefully it won't be for all the wrong reasons.

| The UT kicking game the last several years has been the biggest mystery to me.. I honestly don't understand how we've sunk so low.. I thought Lincoln was just some bad luck for us, and with a new kicker it would go back to normal, but it hasn't got any better.. I don't get it.. Do our kickers get any actual kicking help from coaches?? |

| If they do, it hasn't translated. I really think they could win or lose us a few this year and hope they are getting more attention. |

One of my colleagues has a son who went on to kick at a major D1 school, and he has relayed to me that most schools do not have formal kicking coaches. Most kickers train with former kickers in the off-season and get no formal coaching while in season. TIFWIW

I mean my highschool Team had a former NFL kicker that worked with our kickers full time.. Why in the world wouldn't UT sign someone up to help ours with all the trouble we've had? |

| My understanding from what I've read is that Palardy had a special coach in the offseason and is highly motivated to prove himself this year. In practice, they say he is kicking much better, especially on kick offs. He fought some leg injuries his first two years (not clear what those were) but says he feels 100 percent for the first time since he has been at Tennessee.
Coiner spends a good deal of time with all of them, as does Dooley, which I found interesting. Coiner says Dooley is the most hands on coach he's ever been around, in terms of his focus on special teams and on the punters and kickers. |

I was never a kicker or punter, so I never really thought of them as too important, but now that I don't play anymore and watch all the time, I see that they're very very important to a teams success.. |

| Yeah, these guys are pretty critical to our success. I'm reading that the kickers and punters did well today. Any issues this spring have been more because of our new holders, not so much our kickers.
Brodus seems to be doing well. Curious of he will play a role this year. |
