If we come out of the gate and lose to NC St and UF, can we recover? I think the NC St game is a must win for team morale. | Wow, double thread full of fail.
zomg...Bray's so bad...inconsistent...(wrings hands) what can we doooooo?
Maybe we can get Simms to come back. Because you know, he was soooo good at calling the offense. And consistent.
Consistently sucking, but consistent. |

Does Dooley stay around if we go 6-6 or 7-5? | I think many of you are overestimating the quality of a middling ACC team. UT should beat NCSU and based on talent alone... it should not be close.
Mizzou isn't as talented as UT either. I live in MO and am tempering the expectations of folks I meet. To be the third best team in the Big 12, you have to be better than the also rans behind Texas and OU.
If recruiting rankings mean anything... and they do mean something... then Mizzou should have less talent than every SEC team except Vandy and UK.
IMHO, the threshold should be 8... however I think 7 gets him another year. I think 6-6 would lead to a different coach for the bowl game.
I think that UT will be better than expected this fall. We'll see. |

But, most will be content and say "We'll get 'em next year" or "Look, improvement". |

| Another one of these threads?!?
But to answer you question if we start that way it may be difficult to recover. 6 wins and Dooley is gone |

| The "middle" results will not matter as much as the "why." If it is 7-5 with losses to some big games with injuries (somewhat like last year), DD might survive. If it is 7-5 with some pi$$ poor efforts, DD is gone. I think 8 regular season wins gets him a contract improvement in any case. 9 or more gets him a nice extension and raise. 11 or more and he's in the running for national coach of the year. |
