| 2012 CFN Coach Rankings - 5 Year Plan This isn't a coaching ability ranking but, rather, a list of who'd be the best hire to build your program for the next 5 years. Scout.com: 2012 Coaching Rankings - The 5-Year Plan
It goes to show how good the SEC coaches really are (11 in the top 43; all 14 in the top 70)
*link is for the top 20. The rest of the rankings are in the link. |

| I think they give Joker Phillips a little too much benefit of the doubt. He has been a disastrous failure at UK, except for one lucky game. |

| They are right in a couple of regards. Just looking at last season, Muscump did the least with the most. Like the article says, Urban left 4 and 5 stars across the board. 105th in total offense was incredibly bad for the gaytors.
The other one is Richt. If you look at the high school talent, Georgia should have 2-3 crystal footballs by now. He does just enough to hang on. i hope he stays there forever. Florida has great high school football as well but the gaytors have to divide it up with Florida State and Miami. Gerogia should get almost everyone they want in-state. |

UGA is in the worst position to be in. Richt wins JUST enough to not get fired, but never enough to be a real contender.
This list also shows some good names for the future, as well. |

| Wow, how journalism has gone down hill. The simple fact that something like this can get published or blogged whatever (I'm over 40) just boggles the mind.
First the whole premis of the rankings ar BS, what shape is the program in when hiring this coach? What conference I'm I playing in? Some of the guys in the top 40 I wouldn't consider hiring in any case. |

He has taken over three different programs and has led them to heights they haven't experienced (at least in a long time). He has shown the ability to build a program in five years, which is ultimately what the ranking is.
Also, I never realized that Saban has won 3 crystal trophies in 7 years. Damn that's crazy. |
