The thing is people think everyone marked their calendar when they played Tennessee.
THE thing everyone wanted most was to beat the visor. Period. End of story. Next case
If you think people wanted to knock off Tennessee to at that time, you have no idea |

| Undefeated and unscored upon. Just like the last part of the 1938 season and all of the 39 season. We will have 72 shutout quarters in a row, enroute to multiple National Championships.
In the meantime, we will take over the city of Gaynesville, FL, making "UT Coastal" (F.K.A. University of Flarduh) our satellite campus and forcing all the previous gayturds into positions of subordination and servitude.
JMO.

If you think people wanted to knock off Tennessee to at that time, you have no idea | In that time period only two sec east teams made it to Atlanta. Playing each other usually decided it. |

If Sunseri can bring that back in the next 2 years ( and I think he will) we'll be playing for NCs and be the team to beat again in the SEC. | I am no young whipper snapper. I can't remember Florida and Spurrier ever not scoring as many points as he wanted except in 98.

| Having the right leader is 1a, and being able to land a top 10 class year in year out is 1b. Everything else is window dressing. Posted via VolNation Mobile |

Again, we see ourselves at the point of our rise from the ashes. There is nowhere but up for us at this point. Who will lead us there, nobody truly knows.
So in 20 years, where does VN see the UT program
Will we be among the elite again, or will will be among the meek? |
Neither meek nor elite IMO. Probably just ehh at worst and consistent 9-10 win seasons at best. Will we win another national championship... yes, but I don't think we'll ever be elite as in competing for a NC every or every other year like Bama/Fla/LSU/OK/USC/etc. Which.... i'm okay with. I'm realistic, i just want to be relevant again and go into each year with the hope of competing for a SEC (east) title and hope for a little luck with the championship games and bowl to follow.

| In 20 years, Dooley will be close to wrapping up a Hall of Fame career. He'll have secured us multiple SEC championships and a couple of National Championships. They will rename the stadium Neyland-Dooley stadium...
I can dream, can't I?
I'd love it if we already had the guy on campus that's going to lead us to glory. I'm tired of coaching turnover and offseason drama. We'll see though, starting this fall. Dooley still has a lot to prove, obviously.
My honest short-term prediction is that we will start turning heads this fall. We'll have a winning record with some big upset wins (including a complete spanking of Florida in September). We'll land another Top 10 (possibly Top 5) recruiting class and we will start being competitive on a regular basis.
I think our return to glory starts now. |

I think you may be stretching things a bit. |
