The article specifically said not all football players. The article also said that the team average was around 2.45. Not great, but certainly not below 2.0.

Despite saying 70 were below 2.0, it also said the following: "Murphy did not have a specific grade-point average for the football team, but Donna Thomas, director of the Thornton Athletics Student Life Center, said it was below a 2.45. No sports team fell below a 2.0 grade-point average, she said."
So which is it? Maybe I'm reading it wrong. Perhaps my gpa is lower than I thought.

| It is disconcerting, since the players take a light load of cupcake classes in the fall, and they have access to tutors. They seem to have written off last fall before the season was up... on the field and, apparently, in the classroom. Hopefully, Dooley will get the morale and motivation up, which will fix a lot. But there are always going to be those who just can't cut it in the classroom-- hopefully, they are buried on the depth chart. |

| Athletes have so many resources a their disposal, they should be embarrassed to do that bad in the classroom. |
