| You're going to have an obviously biased response to this which I'd hope you've realized, seeing as how you posted it in the "Tennessee Vols Football" forum on "Volnation". I'm sure if you found "Titansnation" or some deal like that they'd say Vols football isn't big.
But I've lived in Nashville my entire life - grew up in Mount Juliet, attended UT, and at the conclusion of this semester I'll be moving onto 1st Avenue in downtown Nash. Aka I am biased also, but I've lived here my entire life. I can confidently say that middle Tennessee, for the most part, is pro-Vol. |

| I'm from Fayetteville, and there are a lot of bammers here. It's pretty annoying. But a lot of the bammers you see are originally from bama and just moved up here. |

| I like them both but honestly my personal fanhood is about 90% VOLS 10% Titans. There is just nothing out there that comes close to the greatness of Tennessee Volunters Football |

| | Senior Member | I live in Murfreesboro, and I am more interested in the Vols than the Titans. There are a bunch of Vandy, MTSU, and bandwagon bama fans in the area that pull for the Titans. I would still say that the Vols are the most represented out of the schools i just listed other than maybe MTSU, but that is because I could literally walk to their campus from my house. |

| I have never been a Tennessee Titans fan since that happened long after I graduated from UT in the 1970s. Peyton shpuld retire at the top of his game if playing again would cause permamanet damage. Remember the brutal end of Joe Namath's career with the LA Rams after his knees gave out.
When I was at UT, the Titans were still the Houston Oilers and we had the interlocked UT logo (the one we sold to Texas in the early 90s) on the field instead of the Power T. The logo was also done in concrete painted orange & white on the hill to the north of the stadium adjacent to Almuni Gym and the north stands were just portable type bleachers you could see through. |

| Jackson has a good amount of UT fans, but it's got it's fair share of Ole Miss fans too. Even some Arky fans. |

| Last I checked Tennessee simply likes football. It's not like the Titans and Vols are in some sort of competition. UT will always have a huge presence in this state and is a symbol of pride and tradition for many. The Titans have been nothing but a succsess since 1999. The fact that we have a traditional powerhouse playing on Saturday and an NFL team on Sunday is a testament to how much Tennesseans love football. |

I have encountered it on a Titans message board already today. The difference is this place might have more members than all Titans forums combined. Which kind of helps my case. I may be biased towards the Vols as well since it is my school.
This is something that would be very hard to gather factual evidence on. Message boards are the easiest medium to gather information on the subject. If only there were a UT/Titans fans only message board.
