So if you want to blame Cut cause he couldn't out score Spurrier fine but the Vols inability to slow the Gators down was the real issue. | Yeah, Chaves' prevent defense prevented Tennessee from winning several games! |

I didn't start this thread little boy nor do I want to run down Fulmer. I am not going to put him on a pedestal either. He's not worthy. He was a good coach and did well here for several years. If you want to ignore the last half of it, so be it, but it's the reason we're digging out of a hole right now and that is a FACT. Lets move on | Move on to what? Football teams go up and down over time. We were never going to stay on top forever. I am not too upset about it. Dooley is going to win his share too. But he wont win them all either. Are we going to do him the same way (fire him in the middle of the year embarrassing our school and setting of another string of bs)? I dont know exactly what you are driving at here. All coaches are good over time. Then they are not. Then they are fired. Fulmer is no different than any of them. Except he is a Vol. So while others trumpet there's, I will proudly trumpet mine. You do as you wish old chap. |

You have been a True Fulmerite.
I agree you should have the 10,000th post.
i have thought at times that you are Phil himself, then I realize even he could not agree with you. |

THAT cannot be blamed on Fulmer, like you and others keep doing. | Best estimate....IQ 55....FAIL...you lose your only capable QB...your most dynaminc WR play maker....you have a very average if that RB....you play LSU, BAMA, GA, ARKY in a punishing stretch...yeah with a true FR QB and an anorexic roster....it should have been better no matter what.....DUMB.....go back and play with your dog some more |

If I was Phil, and read about the lucky NC, soft SEC while he was here, running down the program. I would think he would be surprised and dismayed at all the negativity.

I think he would be shocked at some of the things said about him.
I like to "stir the pot" but I do respect Fulmer and and am proud of him.
He is a big part of the success TN has had.
I was looking at the list of current SEC coaches the other day and if Phil was still coaching here he would be one of the top 5 or 6 coaches in the SEC. |

I know for certain I didn't. However, being a better squad doesn't always equal more wins. It usually does, but not always. The team played worse, mostly they played with less smarts than 2010. Bray sure as hell didn't look any better, or as good as so many people here think as they kiss his ass. He had one good game, the rest of the time his stats were no better than Simms' the year before against better opponents. THAT is how they played worse. And before you say I'm an idiot with the better squads does not equal more wins comment, the 1995 team was a helluva lot better than the 1998 one, but had more losses. |

| Phil should have kept his mouth shut over the Bama/NCAA violations when you consider Phil was having plenty to deal with over his players in trouble constantly with the law. It has always been a sore topic with me that Phil had 3 players Little, Goodrich and Stallworth who all have taken someone life behind the wheel. What other college program can come close to having this same type of curse associated with their university. |
