| Is it possible? We are getting close to the embarrassment of riches we enjoyed in the mid 90's?
Does Dooley have what it takes to push us back to prominence?
This Alum hopes so. Thoughts???
Oh yeah, one more thing... I've never typed this before, but V, B!!! |

| Just a little early. Tennessee needs to upset somebody big (Bama) then recruiting will really take off. Then we will be on our way. |

| I will never be embarrassed with riches as long as we have to compete with SEC elites. Time will tell, but with time I believe DD will be successful. He has a lot of good points to sell about UT. If he manages his "process" well, he will succeed. |

| I think success could come sooner then people think, at least in the East. Florida is NOT what they have been and is in real trouble right now. We could upset them. Georgia continues to suck wind, I wouldn't call beating them even an upset this year. While Spurrier has done wonders at SC, they simply do not have the program, to keep that sort of depth up like other SEC schools. No way he has a run like at Florida. I would not be surprised at all if we made a run for the east this year......course our chances of winning that SEC title if we do get there......is not so likely...
Also this is assuming alot of thing improve on defense, special teams, and that Tyler Bray continues success against better secondary's instead of just end of the year teams. He got away with alot of wild and crazy stuff....fun to watch then, but against a top notch secondary could be suicidal style of play.
Everyone keeps talking about the Offense. What I want to know is when is the Defense going to lock it down the way they used to.

| I agree but the thing that scares me about Flarduh is that they're already putting together a very good (if not great) 2012 class. That bothers me considering that Muschump hasn't even coached a game yet (as a HC). |

| Again, please re-read the initial post in this thread. I'm not saying we're there, but what I am saying is these coaches appear to be exceptional talent evaluators. If they are as right about the rest of the kids they bring in as they are about Johnson, Maggitt, Harris, Coleman, etc... we have a chance to be a force in the not too distant future. |

| We are headed in the right direction, but you have to admit that it's tougher now than in the 90's. The coaching talent in the SEC overall is better than it was in the 90s. Saban, Richt, Petrino > Donan, Goff, Danny Ford |

We can get elite talent, but we'll probably never again have our pick of the Southeast like we did in the mid to late 90s. |

| I think he is going to get us to the point that we are in the conversation every year. We haven't really been since the disaster of 2005.
I am ok with 7-9 wins this year. Next year should be the year we return to prominence and if they keep recruiting the way they have been, we should be in the conversation for the east every year and SEC championships every few years. This year for instance, we will be underdogs in 5-6 games, but next year will probably not really be underdogs in any game except Bama and maybe UGA at home depending on Richt's status.
The thing I like is not just the talent, but the systematic way of rebuilding. Basically covering the holes while making each position better. Haven't seen many misses yet and that is big for 2 classes. Next year we load up on LB and we are set for the next 2-3 years at that position. We are currently set the next 2-3 years at OL, WR, QB, RB, DB's.
Only thing missing left is DL and we are close. 2-3 commits away from being set in both talent and depth. |
