Yep, he's the freakin' man. I can remember VOLS basketball since about 1982 or so, and this is the best I remember us playing for a long long time. We'll have off nights for sure, but Bruce is a dang good coach, awesome hire for the program.

Such a breath of fresh air after football season. Seeing players play with heart, coaches developing an aggressive gameplan and players executing.

If we had the talent of Pearl coaching our football team we'd be playing in Pasedena next month.

Bruce Pearl is unreal.

Today was like a dream.

I just hope the guy stays here and doesnt take off when everybody else starts throwing money at him.

Unbelieveable coaching! This team is playing with such passion. The hustle and playing with heart is awesome!!!!

This is going to be a fun team to watch this season, and an NCAA bid isn't out of the question. Next year with the new recruits we could challenge for the SEC title.

Maybe Tennessee will could shock the SEC and be three or four games above .500 in the SEC. Go deep in the SEC tournament and qualify for NCAA!

Its gonna be fun to watch this team!!!!!

All of the above would be a welcome surprise and departure from the norm. Pearl is definitely a good tournament coach...

I think it was great to see an animated coach shouting instructions and exuding confidence on OUR sideline for a change. I like his charisma, I think hes a coach we'll see here long term.

I'm just so pleased that we have something to be excited about. Chips away at the sting from football season, even if just a little.

And I agree, nice to have an aggressive, firey coach. It rubs off on the team.

pearl is a great basketball coach. he is even better than i thought getting our team to play that good. we could have the holy mecca of college basketball before very long. can i get a amen brother.

No comparison. Buzz didnt beat anybody to go 9-1.

The team Pearl inherited from Buzz and the team Buzz inherited are totally different. I dont know if you watched, but UT last year was the worst team in the league. Thats what Pearl got. I think he has 3 players over 6'5.
