| had to laugh was watchin css the other night and i forget the show but it was 4 guys talkin sec football.... 3 great things were said...
1. "Tennessee will be LUCKY to win 4 games"- i dunno bout yall but i about pissed myself laughing so hard... not gonna be a great year, but come the hell on.... utm, uab, memphis, vandy, KY.... thats 5 right there. that's a toss up on the other 7 games. figure we will prob win at least 2 of those 7 toss ups with a chance at winning the bowl game
2. "USC jr. likely to be able to win the East"- no reason to even explain that, how much have we heard the last 3 years how spurrior is gonna "turn it around this year"
3. another guy said, "UGA will challenge florida for the east" had to laugh at that too UGA got no qb and a terrible defense I just could not believe those 3 statements. thought it was funny as hell |

| UGA and USCe are both going to be very loaded and dangerous. If the Gamecocks Garcia can keep his head screwed on straight, their offense will be very difficult to keep oin check. Georgia returns a ton of talent everywhere but at QB. If one can be found, look out. |

| UGA will either continue to crumble and Richt will lose his job, or they will regroup and actually play up to their talent level. I think they will rebound after last year's terrible season. They have no qb, but they don't need a great one. They just need a qb that won't lose games. |

| Isn't the show called "Talkin' Football"? They don't even know what they are talking about half the time. |

| Less than 6 wins will be a disappointment in my book. We have talent here. We just need to see if the man in charge can make us a winner.
I give zero credence to the 17-20 record at La Tech. La Tech had usually had a brutal OOC schedule. Totally night and day compared to SEC, considering the injuries he had in his last year there. I think peeps need to wait and see before hammering the guy.

So whoever wins the champ. game plays for the national title, at least our conference has that going for it. We hear rumors about expansion on this site all the time. Bring it on. We are definitely the strongest conference in the country. Come on everyone; lets give Coach Dooley a chance and a couple of years to work with his staff and put together a good team. If I could pull for any team in the East besides the Vols it would be Vandy. I wish they could win the SEC while we are rebuilding. Vandy beats Florida, then upsets Bama in the title game, How surprising would that be. I'm not crazy and saying it's gonna happen but wouldn't that be cool. I guess if we are wishing; then maybe the VOLS will win it all next year. | So what you're saying is you're not crazy but South Carolina or Kentucky can win the east but not Tennessee? Agree with the thread title. |

| Saying we would be lucky to win four is a stretch, but it's possible.

| The majority of VolNation, thinking rationally will say we'll win between five and seven games this year. We're a lot closer to the epicenter, and these "analysts" just grab hints from the headlines without really putting thought into the situation.
I could very well only win four games next year, but it's much more likely that they don't know what they're talking about.
Spurrier and the Gamecocks have been poised to have a break-out year for the past three seasons. Last I checked, they've got a first year O-line coach, they lost Norwood, the quarterback of their defense, and Spurrier certainly isn't building Garcia's confidence up right now. IMO Georgia is second in the East (even with their question marks) and the UT/USCjr winner will be third.
And unfortunately no one will challenge Florida this year in the East. They'll lose to Bama in the regular season and in the CG, and they could lose to LSU. But no one else in our division has the talent to compete with them right now.
