2.Bubba? No way (all likelyhood) that kid did ANYTHING to warrant that.Short of him trying to run off(like literally running) or trying to attack the cop or someone else. If he wanted to continue the conversation or if the officer deemed it necc to arrest him for the possible remarks, then you walk the kid into the hallway. The fact that the cop did it in front of everyone is proof enough for me that his pride was hurt and he was set to make a point. Tossing objective law enforcement out the window at that point. | | @mwsullivan12 on twitter | I was right beside it in the student section. Like one kid tried to rush the court and kept going after being told to stop. (he was wasted) That seemed to set the police on the offensive. Another person was standing down there and the TV mic near the band was starting to fall, so he like put his hand on it to stop and I see him get laid the crap out by like 3 cops. What the cops did was totally uncalled for. That was not the only case either. I would be sueing if it happened to me. |

I was just commenting on what I saw after the game and it was bullsh1t! Had I been closer to Hamilton or other UT officials I would have expressed my disgust personally instead of by e-mail, which I will send this morning!! GO VOLS, don't get too excited over a win in the K or you might whipped like a rented mule!!! V,B |

| I don't know what happened, but what I saw did not warrant that much force. The cop shoved him into the student section knocking down the railing near the band. Then they brought him up by a choke hold and proceeded to tackle him again to where several cops got on top of him. All he could have done was say something to them. |

| Both people that got pulled out were excessively attacked.
I was down near it, and the one guy that got beaten around did nothing but throw an insult at the roided up looking cop that basically attacked him. The kid started trying to rush the court, but when he got near the bottom they stopped him and he went back into the section, yelled at a cop, and bam, they were on him. He wasn't even trying to escape and they had about 10 people on top of him.
Knoxville/UT police, baby.

| At the UT/Georgia football game this past October, I was sitting in the lower part of section C, approximately row 7.
There was a drunk middle aged man who was harrassing two younger (25ish) men in the row in front of him. He kept trying to push the two guys down into their seats when EVERYONE was standing up. The two younger guys were being very polite to the drunk guy, trying to explain to him that they had to stand up in order to see since everyone else was standing.
Anyways, someone went and told the cops what was happening and the next thing I know, a cop (I don't know if it was KPD or UTPD) yelled at one of the two polite guys who hadn't done anything, "Hey you, come here." The fan asked, "Why?" and the cop went into the row in a quick manner and the fan asked him again why. The cop told him, "YOU SHUT THE F*** UP!!!" and roughhoused the guy, put his arms behind his back, and handcuffed him as he was on the floor in someone's spilled drink and other trash. They hauled him off even though we were all telling the cop, "He didn't DO anything! What are you doing?"
A few minutes later, they handcuffed the other decent fan and also the obnoxious drunk fan. Fifteen or twenty minutes later, all three fans returned to their seats.
I don't know what the point of it all was, but it was ridiculous for the police to be using foul language when women and children were in the section. It made no sense for him to handcuff (and basically assault) the fan who did nothing but be polite.
I wish I would've had a hidden camera and could've put it on YouTube. I'm thinking about ordering a camera hidden in an ink pen just for moments like these.
The cop who did the above was a white cop who wasn't on 'roids, so it sounds like there's more than one bad cop and perhaps the lack of professionalism is epidemic in police forces in Knoxville. We, the taxpayers, pay their salaries and all they do is act like the very thugs they're supposed to be keeping off the street. |
