What happened to those orange uniforms? The ones the whole team is wearing with CJ Watson in front? Those are 100x better than our unis now! They can be seen at the very start of the video. YouTube - Tennessee Basketball - Bruce Pearl Era

| Those are awful IMO. There were major complaints from TV, media, and fans about not being able to read names and numbers, and were not well received on the recruiting trail. | |

| I don't recall a time when the "throwbacks" were in style...now our jerseys just look like any other teams except with orange and white. At least those stand out... | |

| I am pretty sure those were the throwback uniforms that they wore for the 75th anniversary of the SEC. All the teams had a throwback uniform that they wore a few time during the season and during the SEC Tournament. | |

It was the 2005-2006 season, which was Watson's senior year. It was a league thing but it had nothing to do with the 75th anniversary. They only wore them for like a week during the season and the SEC Tournament It was supposed to look like these uniforms from the mid 70s. I do like the ways these look. Wish they could something more like this at least once or twice a year.

| Actually, those uniforms CJ is wearing were our normal unis for about a year and a half towards the end of the Buzz era. The throwback week unis were later in his career and early in the Pearl era. They had blue in them while the ones shown in this thread did not. | |

Yep, those unis at the beggining were during the Buzz years. They were kind of in the throwback style and had all black trim removed. I personally hated them.
The official throwback did have some blue trim in them. We wore them at Alabama the year they did them and got romped.
