I know it's wrong what they did but......

I, FOR ONE, just know about dropping the hammer on them.I'd be more apt to look at their backgrounds to make a fair judgement. Maybe it's because I actually use to work with juvenile deliquents and vividly recall talking to a 14 year old girl and her mom who was visiitng her. Oh yeah, she was locked up and being evaluated for stabbing a girl to death in her bathtub or getting pregnant by her boyfriend. One thing is for certain, a lot of crack/cocaine dealers and buyers carry guns for a reason. There could be a lot of stuff kept out of the news as well so we will never know everything.

regardless of where they came from and how they were brought up they themselves made the decision no one forced them to put the guns in the car or go buy the pot and now they have to deal with the consequences..

You're looking too far into this. These are four guys who squandered and opportunity to better their lives with an education, and to compete in a game they love on a national stage. Hopefully they will take this as an opportunity to learn to appreciate life more. They worked hard for those schollys, no dispute there, but they didn't fully realize the opportunity they had.

I'm just curious, but did anyone ask ts why he has 2 "tear drops" tatoo'd on his face. I think we all know what it symbolizes?

I'm not concerned about their background. Once you turn 18 it's real. They all need to be held accountable for their actions.

It is difficult for most people to empathize. I'm all for tough love, but I think many forget the "love" part.

Vivdly recall? But not sure if she murdered someone or just got pregnant? lol Huge difference!!! I have worked with inner-city troubled youth for the past 22 years. And the one thing most anyone who works with them knows is that they need and actually desire accoutnability and boundries. NO one ever climbs out of that life on the stairs built out of excuses and blame. I'm not for throwing them to the curve. But think they should have to earn thier way back on the team, hopefully by next season.

I'd trade my season tickets to see some of these "NERO" posters spend a couple days in the Bronx without a firearm. Anyone know any history about the racial tension in PULASKI TN? How about Melvin Goins hood? I'm all for them being punished for their actions appropriately, but to cast them all to the curb without all the facts is saying you don't give a shiit ab their lives or their persons. And the sad part is that its TRUE, most would never admit it, but the only reason MOST on here or anywhere care is because they play D1 sports for your team. Shows you WHO the low lives really are when you put it in perspective.

A handgun with an altered serial number is no small deal. Whether they want to believe it or not, they bring a whole new world of responsibility on themselves when they sign to come play for a nationally recognized program. No matter what sport it is. Age isn't an excuse, race/background isn't an excuse. I'm all for suspending them the rest of the season and seeing if they have learned anything by the start of next season. I also would not be surprised to see them all gone. The only person I would hate to see go is Tatum.

Just suspend them for a couple of games--smoking weed is no big deal.
