Anyone read this?

Men's NCAA basketball tournament could grow, move to cable - ESPN

This would be interesting but I don't agree. I say leave it alone and fix the BCS. I like the NIT too and would hate to see them throw it out the window.

IMO the NCAA's priority should be fixing the BCS situation to determine a REAL football champion, not a vote in.

The NCAA needs to do something toward a playoff before the federal gov. tries to fix it. Believe me if the Feds. fix it nobody is going to like it.

The BCS needs to do one thing! IT IS SOOOO SIMPLE!

11 D1 confrences. Take the winner of each Conf and put them in the playoff. You pick 5 At Large teams and now you have a 16 team field.

Keep some of the bowls for those "good" teams that don't make the playoff.

The playoffs will be seeded1-16 and the higest ranked team will play the game at Home until the Final Game. Have it rotate between New Orleans, Miami, LA, and Arizona every 4 yrs. There is you TRUE National Champion!

Off the top of my head..this year would have

Bama
Ga Tech
Cinnci
Oregon
Texas
Ohio State
TCU
Troy
Central Mich?? (MAC)
East Carolina
Boise St

UF
LSU
Iowa
Penn State
Oklahoma State maybe

Not a bad field. Let the BEST TEAM win!

I do not hate the idea of adding 4 at large teams by dropping down some more teams, but then you would have just 4 more teams wanting to get in.

At this point if you are deserving of playing for the national title and you scheduled intelligently, you do not miss the basketball tournament.

Plus one would have worked perfectly this year. 1 Bama v. 4. Cincy 2. Texas v. 3. TCU

4 undefeateds, TCU>Boise's regular season. No arguments.

I don't even want a big playoff, keeps the regular season special. 4 teams.

I agree that the tourney should stay as is. 65 is enough. And, if it moves to ESPN, I hope "One Shining Moment" goes with it. That song is part of the game. I do think ESPN would do a better job with the tourney. CBS does a nice job, but ABC/ESPN offer more sports networks and a better production. With ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPNU, they could show every game live.
