The Adidas / Nike Debate

I'm relatively new to the board so I don't know if this has been discussed in detail. If not, than I really want to get your opinion on the matter.

Personally, I think this affects at least some of the top tier highschool talent looking for a school. I understand the big named programs that have endorsement deals with Adidas (UCLA, Kansas, Louisville etc...) but maybe this game is getting uglier than it was in the past? I know Nike pours a lot of money into the AAU circuit and camps because it's establishing good relationships with future targets. I remember reading about Mayo, before he went to USC, and all the Reebok/Nike stuff going on and realized then how stupid it was. I was just curious about the endorsement deals because UT's contract is up next year. I know money talks but I'm guessing UT extends it's contract with Adidas. Does it even matter and do you see something like this becoming a serious problem?

Tennessee has been with Adidas for like 14 years or something. I don't see that changing.

the brand name has no effect on the way you play the game so why should it matter?

Everywhere I look I see NIKE as stupid as it seems a product name these days can afect recruiting. The world especially kids are greatly controled by brand names. I think Tennessee should switch to NIKE because they are what the world deems as the ultimate sports product!

Tennessee is going to go with who will write them the biggest check, as with every school.
