Collegehoops Preview

I like this quote.

Final Projection:

Last year’s relatively disappointing season has somewhat stymied the expectations of the 2009-2010 Tennessee team, and that should not be the case with so many players returning. This is a team that has the talent, depth and experience to win the Southeastern Conference and make a deep, deep run in the NCAA Tournament.

Point guard play is the #1 indicator of success in college basketball...

I'm not expecting much out of this team.

Last year the team had a lot of pressure. This year, the team is largely overlooked due to UK and Coach Cal. My UK fans act like its a foregone conclusion that UK will win the SEC, and the only question is who UK will play in the Final Four. UK is giving UT no respect.

Maybe UT will suprise the basketball world this year. But from Hat's reports, the team doesn't look so good thus far this season?

If the BB Vols return to the Pearl's signature pressing "controlled chaos" (as he has said they would) that Pearl dropped last year due to youth, etc., the Vols will again have a great season challenging for SEc championship and big run in NCAA tourney.

You guys are being way too hard on the team. You can't tell how a season is gonna go after playing D2 teams in exhibition games. If you would have told me after the Auburn game that the football team was going to trash Georgia and South Carolina and come a blocked kick away from beating Bama, there is no way I would've believed you. This team has loads of talent and has a chance of being really good, don't give up on them after two preseason games.

UK will be very good but so will the VOLS. it will come down to us and them for who wins the SEC.

By listening to Pearl after the last two, I don't believe he's as confident in the press as he'd like to be. I think we see it more than last year but not balls to the wall.
