| Impressions...
1. I'm liking what I see from Hopson thus far. Very smooth, drive and dish, three pointer, mid range pull up....very nice.
2. Tyler not looking good, especially on defense. Hall is showing more intensity even though he is obviously raw.
3. Defense sucks right now, too many open shooters.
4. Maze is better than Goins, but I still like Goins presence and he seems steady. I think both look good this far.
5. J.P. is the same. I like him, but he'll never be able to be more than a secondary option and his defense is so-so. He does well on the follow up baskets and is a good garbage guy.
6. McBee looks tons better than I expected. His footspeed is decent and can definitely shoot. If he can give us a good 8-10 minutes a game, he will be well worth a scholarship next year.
7. I'm not sure what the hell Tatum is doing.
All in all, it looks like an exhibition and the defense is lacking. |

| Also, I should add that this is the best ball movement I've seen from a Pearl team in his time here. No standing around for 15 seconds waiting to set up the flex. | |

| -Hopson looks much improved on both ends.
-McBee is a pleasant surprise for me.
-Tatum looks like a freshman all over again.
-Prince is still Prince.
-Kenny Hall could develop into something special.
-We should be killing them on the boards. The fact that we aren't is a concern.
-I think our success this season will come down to half-court defense and point guard play. At this point, both look to be about the same. Maze's decision-making does seem a bit better...at this point at least. | |

| I like how Goins creates space between defenders. Smith, Chism and Hall look to be a very good three punch combo.
I didn't like how Maze seemed too concerned with scoring. He should focus more on running the offense. I didn't like our play around the basket on offense during second and third scoring opportunities. We missed alot of easy layups.
