Dear god can the kids play one D1 quarter before we put em on the all SEC team? And why is everyone so hot in love with kentucky...ok I get they have a cheating cheater mccheaterton coach that cheated himself into a top recruiting class and all that lovelyness but what ever happened to needing to have a good season (preferably play in the NCAA tourney as opposed to the NIT) before being crowned preseason champs. Sorry no UAB's in the SEC Calacheater.

No Chism = No cred.

But it is nice to see 3 of the 5 first teamers pre-season are Tennesseans.

That might be good if more than 1 of them played for us.

And who do you plan on benching for Chism?

Here is what makes me chuckle. People in the national media (Parrish and others) pick John Wall as national player of the year. Best point guard in the nation, so forth and so forth. Yet he finds his way on the second team all SEC. lol

But I'm not mad at the selection. Hell, the kid has not even played a game yet. I think second team is a good spot for a pre season ranking. Its just funny how the media sometimes does this. Perhaps the SEC media is still busy with the pigskin.

that's because coaches voting is a different animal. Too many have been burned by the hype and too many have seen freshmen struggle with the transition.

Even funnier, Wall finished second in POY votes (behind his own teammate) by the same media that thinks he is not better than the two guards voted to the first team.

Not really. My guess is that many voters either placed him 1) at the tip top of the ballot based on potential or 2) not on it at all because they haven't seen him. That will give him a lot of number one votes, lots of no votes, and an average that places him on the second team.

In theory, this makes sense. But any way you slice it, its funny. Your the second best player in the conference, but not good enough to be on the 1st team.

Orchestrated chaos.
