Pinkston in town

Check out the little throw in at the end of the article today from the News-Sentinel. Apparently, Jayvaughn Pinkston in in Knoxville on his own dime.

Never out of practice: Pearl stuck on defense, not 'advanced stuff' GoVolsXtra

he should be stuck on defense. Matter of fact, I'm not sure I would even let them touch a basketball until about 1 week before tip off. lol

As for Pinkston, thats a good sign.

It's always good for a recruit to take the initiative and pay for his own trip. What's the deal on Pinkston again, though? He can't sign until he takes the ACT, right?

Kimani Young, Pinkston's coach on Zagsblog:

“Although St. John’s is one of the schools that Jay is choosing from. He has not made a clear decision where he will attend school next fall. He has not decided if he will commit early or late. As of today he will be a late signee,” Young wrote in a text.

“However, that could change if he’s 100 percent sure where he wants to go after a few more unofficial visits over the next few weeks.”

Pinkston is considering St. John’s, Seton Hall, Villanova, Marquette and Tennessee.

As first reported here, Pinkston will probably attend the Red Storm Tip-Off at St. John’s Oct. 22; Villanova’s Hoops Mania Oct. 23; and Tennessee’s exhibition with North Alabama Oct. 31.

It is encouraging for him to take the visit on his own dime. He can sign at any time during a LOI period, he just can't take officials without an ACT.

The article quotes the game as Oct 30. Your post states Oct 31. Which is it? does anyone know the exact date and time?

There is a home football game on the 31st. The basketball game is most likely Friday night, the 30th.

I was quoting Zagsblog.

It sounds like Pinkston will stick around for the South Carolina game

Thanks - I was doubting that the game would be scheduled on the same day as the football game, although I guess it could be possible.
