There weren't 18000 there. Not to mention a good amount of the '18000' left after Yo Gotti performed.

I disagree. It was SRO beyond Yo Gotti.

There were empty seats all over that arena, just because they were stuck between people who refused to scoot towards the middle of the row didn't mean they weren't there.

Highlight of the night was a middleaged, fat, white woman dancing with her hands in the air to Yo Gotti. Everything else was mediocre. Dunk Contest was ok. 'Free play' was awful.

The three point contest was one of the most disorganized things I have ever seen.

While I don't totally agree with this, the people having to stand could fill up those empty seats, therefore 18K.

Exactly what were you expecting? A 10 minute speech read for a teleprompter?

That was VERY unorganized and pretty silly.

1) what are you talking about?

2) I know this may sound silly, but I would expect at least the level of defense played in rocky top league for the free play. It was worse than that. And that is sad.

1) What "events" were you expecting? The 10 minute lecture being read from a teleprompter reference was Calipari at UK's MM.

2) The free play was just like the old Bluff City Classic. All offense and no defense. It wasn't going to be a hard-nosed scrimmage/practice or anything.

I never expected there to be hard nose defense. But when the defense is worse than that in Rocky Top League (which I am sure you've never seen as you probably haven't been up to Knoxville in themiddle of the summer recently) then there is an issue.

For the uneducated, the "Midnight Madness" events are not real practices. They are for fans and players to have fun and kickoff the season. If you are expecting hard nosed defense and drills head to the campuses the next mornings when the real work begins.

You are absolutely correct! You do those when you have the fan support to support such an activity. When you don't, you look stupid.
