"It was a really good time, I know it's a different sport, but you could see what kind of passion the fans have and the kind of support that they give to the team," Harris said of his weekend. "It was fun to have a chance to visit with the coaches and chill out with the players and stuff, I would call that my favorite part of the weekend, just spending time with people and getting to know them."

Sounds like he had a good time, but Harris seems to be a kid playing it close to the vest. I wouldn't expect anything more than what the article got out of him for impressions.

I've always wondered why people say being a football school would push basketball players away. The basketball team is regularly a top 25 these days under Pearl. You'd have to think a lot of these kids enjoy watching football outside of playing basketball. Let's ignore the fact that Kansas and North Carolina have been ranked in football recently. Would you rather go to a Kansas, NC, UConn, Duke football game etc. or a Tennessee football game? I know coaches and academics are a more important factor in choosing a school but when you're as highly rated as someone like Harris, you don't need to best education or coaching staff to go pro. Although I think there is nothing wrong with Tennessee's academics and believe we have a good basketball team. Obviously I am bias but I would love to play for one of the better teams and in one of the bigger arena's in the country while also attending football games at a place like Tennessee. Duke for instance... if I wasn't already a fan and was only going their for basketball, I would never attend a football game.

Indeed. That's got to help at least a little bit. Too bad he never got to see the rock.

I love how "coincidences" happen in recruiting. The only way that could have turned out better would have been if Allan Houston had accompanied his father to the convention King was attending.
