Of course not. That "I can get you to the NBA (and the big money)" is huge for the big time basketball recruits

Hel, if we have just Golden and McRae in November that's a decent haul. A joke of a class does not include top players and would look like a recruiting class for Auburn. That's a joke of a class.

Again, this is the kind of garbage I'm talking about. Pearl doesn't beat out a ton of top coaches for a couple of players and somehow he is a "joke". Simply beyond stupid.

No, a joke of a class is losing your best recruit and not pulling a single SEC-caliber player in a position of need. Or do you think Tennessee can play a 5 guard lineup? So tell me exactly how that is stupid? Oh what, you can't? So why don't you let the people that actually know what they are talking about sort this situation out?

And again, you need to work on your reading comprehension, either that or you should post exactly where I called Pearl a joke. Or you just twist things to say whatever you want so you can go off on another tangent. Simply beyond stupid.

Guys he's being out recruited by Pastner , a kid with no coaching experience . I'm not saying this because he 's coaching the TIGERS , but because he's new , unproven, and unexperienced . I predict the VOLS to win against the TIGERS this year but if Pearl dont get on the ball it coulds be few and far between from now on . Also Pearl may be a better coach than Pastner and can beat him with lesser talent . Who knows ??? JMO

Sorry, just noticed your question. JJ Hickson was a first round pick, I believe that is the extent of it.

Well, fact is, prior to Pearl we couldn't even get a top five player to look at us, much less make an official visit. Why don't we wait until recruiting is finished prior to labeling this year as a joke. By the way, four star players are not a joke either. To indicate such is beyond stupid.

Vincent Yarbrough was a pretty highly rated recruit. As were Ernie and Bernie

Wade Houston got vists from Corliss Williamson, Glenn Robinson, and Lawrence Funderburke(when he was transferring from IU). How much good did that do? If you don't sign them, it doesn't really matter.

I'm not a member but on rivals it says that he's not signing (at least not signing during the early signing period) with NCST. The opening line of the article says, "The first bit of controversial news surrounding the early signing period comes out of the North Carolina State recruiting class concerning Luke Cothron".

Anyway we get back in it with him? Anyway this is a sign that he is looking around still?

Per Rivals:

Quote:
Cothron doesn't doubt at all that he'll end up at NC State.

"I'm done with recruiting, and I'm going ahead and will go to NC State," Cothron said. "I want to sign in the spring and don't want to sign right now. I'm just not ready to sign."

Cothron has been a steady visitor to NC State this fall, and that will continue. He doesn't want other schools to recruit him, but knows that some will keep trying. He picked NC State on Oct. 5 over Tennessee and Alabama, with interest from UConn, Florida State, Texas A&M, Auburn, Texas, and others.

"I haven't any second thoughts about NC State," Cothron said. "I want to see how [NCSU coach] Sidney Lowe coaches, and how they use their power forwards before I hop into a situation where I sign. Once you sign, you are in. I have to play a lot of minutes. I don't want to sit on the bench. I'll be going to the games for sure."

Also, this could be a factor...

Academics could also be a factor in this equation as Cothron still has hurdles to jump in order to qualify and has even been rumored to be a likely candidate to reclassify to 2011.

I know this is foolish from what he said but I feel like Lloyd Christmas - "So you're saying there's a chance". It's not over....

If UT lands Pinkston and Harris, there won't be much interest in bringing in Cothron as well. However, if Bruce misses on either Pinkston or Harris, I can see them going after Cothron again.

Cothron will be our #1 target for the Spring IMO. Of course that will be if we dont land TH and JP in the next few days!
