| TN All Time Ranking As A Basketball Program http://assets.espn.go.com/photo/2009/1004/cbe1.pdf
According to ESPN. 33. That is not that bad but it is below the level many of us expect and demand during the Bruce Pearl era. We want to be a top 25 team most years and many of us believe Pearl needs an Elite 8 this year and at least 1 player drafted high in the NBA. |

| I read somewhere else that Tennessee was around the 70-80 mark, all-time, when considering all Division 1 schools. |

| Those rankings the OP mentioned are really bad. I read about them the other day, Sangarian or whatever. 70 - 80 really does sound more accurate. |

| I would've guessed about #50 myself. We did have some pretty good teams with Ernie & Bernie plus the Allan Houston era. I don't think we were ranked when Tony White was here, where we?

Maybe it just seemed that way with Allan Houston. Was we ever ranked when Dyron Nix was here? Boy, didn't he turn out to be a fine NBA Player? Ha!

| Hey I say we should go along with it. Something that should humble our current players. |

| I'm almost 30 and the best season we had with Allen Houston was his senior year 19-15. Allen was the man though just didn't have any support.

| I know UCONN was more of a regional power for a long time, but for Tennessee to be 21 spots ahead of them is ridiculous. Seriously, did a retarded monkey make that list? |

Seriously, did a retarded monkey make that list? | its the Sagarin ratings. Jeff Sagarin is the inventor, if your curious. His stat ratings and predictions through the course of a season are used world wide for their accuracy. Some pretty neat stuff.
HOWEVER, in this instance, this particular model seems flawed to me as well. I do know that this formula for all time greatest programs does not accound for # of national Championships, which is more than likely why UK is at #1 instead of UCLA. And also Why UT is so far ahead of UCONN. We were discussing this on a UK board.
Its kinda weird. |

Other than that, the Sagarin ratings are as worthless as they are in football.
Duke is behind Illinois? Louisville is behind Iowa? Did the guy who thinks Kirk Ferentz is the second best coach in the nation come up with this formula?

He's be using it to break Vegas. Posted via VolNation Mobile |

Posted via VolNation Mobile | I don't blame Kentucky fans for liking it. He has them #1 in this thing, and he retroactively awarded them a football national championship a half-century after the season was over. That doesn't make it particularly meaningful, however.
