| | VolNation's Grand Poobah | Hopson vanished in RTL championship game Interesting quote from the league MVP regarding Hopson.
"Scotty is an incredibly talented player,'' said Jackson, who held Hopson to 24 points in the game while scoring a game-high 30 himself. "But he's got to go and get the ball instead of just fading away and waiting for it to get passed to him.
"I was picking him up at half-court, and I was literally looking him right in the eye.'' Posted via VolNation Mobile |

| Sounds like he's lazy off the ball.

| He seems to think he's such a star that he shouldn't have to play when he doesn't have the ball.

| that might be a little harsh. i'm sure he's used to having everyone look to get him the ball. hopefully he'll grow out of that and get more aggressive

| I remember the "regular season" game a couple weeks ago between the 2 teams. Boo was angry at Hopson the whole game. He was giving some hard fouls and really scrapping at him. He started a couple fights, but Hopson didn't ablige.

| Hopson/Lofton Hopson is a scorer without an ego...he doesn't demand the ball.
I think what happened in the title game was Dane and JaJuan, who have played a ton together, started looking for each other.
Scotty's not a whiner or a moaner. He's a winner.
Boo did rough up Scotty, played him like he does his overseas pro games.
It was another good lesson for Scotty, and part of his maturation process.
It's foolish to think the Rocky Top League doesn't help the UT players -- especially this year. The competition was fierce.
It's more convenient for fans to sit at home and say "it doesn't really matter'' rather than feel like they are missing out on something.
I understand that logic, just like I understand the hunger UT fans have to win after shelling out ridiculous amounts of money for tickets during a recession.
But getting down on Scotty is the wrong thing to do -- he's the key to the season, and he's a good kid all the way around.
Tennessee will be very proud of him when he plays in the NBA, whether that be sooner, as in next year, or later. |

Chris Lofton, the greatest shooter UT history, didn't even get drafted. Even JuJuan Smith was cut from the Mavs. Hell, even CJ Watson went undrafted. Scotty is NOT an NBA player. Quote it. |

| I just don't see it. He doesn't seem to create on his own like Lofton did and doesn't play defense like JuJuan did. He's too thin and a soft breeze/NBA 3 forward would blow him down. |
