According to this list provided by the Wall Street Journal, Coach Pearl's 3 year average RPI measures up quite nicely to other coaches in the NCAA.

I'm sure there are some UK fans with a few opinions about this.

Isn't that spreadsheet missing columns for "championships" and "final fours?"

I would like to see what the revenue is that is brought in by the programs. This is what pays the bills. And yes, championships tend to increase cash flow.

Are you suggesting that UNC's basketball program might generate more than twice Creighton's basketball program?

That would seem to fly in the face of Dana Altman's "Elite Value" score being higher than Roy Williams', despite Williams' salary being twice as high.

You have to admit that any list that has Kevin Stallings 7th and Bill Self 20th might be a tad flawed.

At least B. Pearl's done a good enough job to even be mentioned in march!! I agree with cotton's post about the system being flawed though.

BB and FB coaches bring in millions for the program, easily earning their salary and benefits. Plus, a ton of money is paid by networks for TV / radio.
