I think thats a good explanation for it. He needs to drive more I agree, but I'd rather him be too unselfish than the other way around.

To the best of my recollection, Pearl's flex has never made full use of the downscreen.

I don't think our halfcourt offense has ever been very good. We have had elite outside shooters and scored a lot of points in transition which has led to a lot of scoring, but halfcourt offense (and defense for that matter) has never been our strong point. Look at last year when we started turning teams over a lot less after them Memphis game - our scoring went way down.

Good points. Last year when we had Jajuan, I never concerned myself with our halfcourt defense or offense. Because we turned them over...we *always* turned them over. It seemed like no matter how well we were playing overall, we would be able to pull together 1-2 small spurts per game(steal, dunk; steal, 3pt; steal, dunk) that ended up being game changing.

This year's team doesn't have the spurtability of last year's team, and so the halfcourt execution becomes crucial. And from what I've seen this year, it just doesn't seem like our halfcourt offense is a well-oiled machine. I'm just wondering if the system doesn't fit the personnel as well as it did last year. And, even though I love me some BP, I'm wondering how good he is at tailoring his system year in and year out to match the strengths of his personnel.
