2. how much of Renfroe's penetration had to do with the fact that he was left-handed, and how much had to do with the fact that he just owned Maze? B/c Maze seems to be a very capable on-ball defender.
3. also agreed. I'm very impressed with Tabb's play and attitude thus far. The one area he could improve on is in the fast-break. He often seems out of control in those situations. |

We need easy buckets and we ain't getting them. |

| Hopson airballed a free throw. That pretty much just bumped the whole team from Elite Eight Consideration right there.
One thing that made me happier today was that two out of our three dumbest potential plays weren't seen in this game. We didn't have any really dumb fastbreak charging fouls where our players apparently think they can dunk through someone, and we didn't throw away 4 or 5 alley-oop attempts. The third dumbest potential play, Wayne Chism shooting a 3 pointer, was unfortunately present and accounted for. |

| The two biggest early disappointments, Tabb and Chism, have seemed to have turned it up since last Saturday.

| I was very underwhelmed by this team today. Soft, sloppy, tired play. there's just no 40 minute focus by anyone. defense is just awful around the perimeter. Posted via VolNation Mobile |

As far as the rest, I think BP hit the nail on the head when he talked about BMaze...he said he doesn't think that he's ever had to play defense the way BP and staff have asked him to....
That rings true to Hopson, Tatum, and Woolridge. These guys have some ways to go...especially squaring up their man, and switching off ball screens. Posted via VolNation Mobile |
