It just makes no sense to continue to have a bracket that doesn't reward regular season success.

I proposed the NCAA reSeed the tourney once the sweet 16 is set.

Assuming WV and Xavier hold on this is how the tounrey would look going forward.

Boston:
1 Villanova
16 Loyala Chicago

8 Gonzaga
9 Kentucky

Omaha:
2 Kansas
15 Syracuse

7 Texas Tech
10 WV
Note: if there NCAA wanted to avoid conference match ups flipping WV to an 11or a 9 seed is doable

LA:
4 Duke
13 Nevada

5 Purdue
12 Texas A&M

Atlanta:
3 Xavier
14 K State

6 Michigan
11 Clemson

Because it doesn't give us the best teams in the final 4.

Ask yourself this question.

Would you rather watch Loyalo vs Nevada or Nevada vs Duke?

Don’t mess with perfection, the only way to go is down.

Part of March are Cinderella teams making runs. Your idea puts those teams at a disadvantage. Fans would hate it.

There is no doubt it puts them at a disadvantage to get to the final four but why should they have such an advantage over a 1 or 2 seed that ends up having a harder path?

Ok having to reseed because of the Xavier choke job.

Boston:
1 nova
16 Loyalo Chicago

8 Kentucky
9 WV

Omaha:
2 Kansas
15 Syracuse

7 gonzaga
10 Clemson

Atlanta:
3 Duke
14 FSU (could adjust by one for conference)

6 Texas Tech
11 Texas A&M

LA:
4 Purdue
13 K State

5 Michigan
12 Nevada

See very quick process

So you want the best teams to be handed the final 4 ?
All the best teams have to do is win and they will make it to the final 4. It doesnt matter who plays in the final 4 , these teams won and deserves to be there. By the way Xavier went home also.

And you’d still get upsets

Handed to them?

Well hell no but I also don't think a team like Kentucky should have it handed to them either.

If one team gets an easy road it should be the best team during the regular season not a 5 seed

If you are going to give regular season success why would you have Gonzaga as an 8 and Kentucky as a 9? And WV as a 10???

And that would be great.

Seeing that bracket would be much better games than what we have imo

Let's be honest though... it's only the South that looks crappy.

It can come down to a Duke/Syracuse vs Kansas and Purdue vs West Virginia/Villanova for Elite 8

The West could be a Gonzaga vs Michigan Elite 8

The south basically has Kentucky...but lots of people had Kentucky being in Elite 8.

I think we didn't expect the higher seeds to go down this quick.

Yea I hate a game like Loyalo vs Nevada for a trip to the elite 8.

I also hate Kentucky vs K state.

Just doesn't reward Villinova for a Much better regular season when they play West Virginia.

The seeding is subjective and already gives an advantage to those gifted the highest seeds. And there's not a damn thing wrong with Loyola v Nevada for an EE.

If any change is made, it should be to reduce the field to 32. There's too much TV money for that to ever happen.

I used the NCAA 1-68 rankings to get those seeds

I could have made a mistake so check me

I was just wondering because Gonzaga won both their regular and tourney..

I'm not sure if they continue to rank during conference tournaments.

I was assuming you included the tourney as well.

The reaction to our loss already shows us how much of a tourney sport this has become. The regular season is already devalued enough. We need to make it more important. ReSeeding does that. Loyalo Vs Nevada will easily be the least watched game next week. No one will give two ****s about that one

No the NCAA released their 1-68 rankings they used when seeding the tourney last Sunday.
