Impact of losing Kyle Alexander (Wes Rucker article)

Fair article regards the game. I would flip it. Ramblers played well, shot really well. Alexander being out hurt, freshman bench hurt worse. Pons looked lost, Walker was ok but, ok won’t win tournament games, and Fulkerson needs to learn to shoot it and bulk up. Finally. Luck is always a factor. Ramblers were lucky officials took Schofield out of the game early. Fouls were 2x on UT as Ramblers and shut our defense down. Their big guy under the basket got away with murder in my opinion. But het, better next year. Go Vols!

We lost by a point on a lucky bounce basket. It's safe to say KA would have more than put us over the top. We probably even beat the spread.

We lose Alexander to an injury and we lose to a last second shot by the opposing team.

Can’t get any worse than that.

Alexander being inop hurt big time! We missed a few free throws our opponent didn't. Their guards attacked the rim our guards didn't. They played with a spunk a fire, our team didn't. This felt like a regular season game to me with the desire that our team played with. We had a wonderful regular season & we all are proud of this team & the job by our coaching staff. But once you get to the SEC Tournament & the NCAA, you got to have that Kill Switch!!! Kentucky is on fire right now. Their guards attack the rim, they draw fouls, they hit their free throws, the block out, they rebound, they play defense, they have that Kill Switch!

That's KY being KY and TN being TN. Been that way for my 50+ years.

Why the media throws out garbage like " Williams and Schofield plan to Return" instead of going to NBA is comical. Neither one of these guys is on any NBA projected draft board. I love both players but don't see either of them playing in the NBA due to their size. Great college players though and fun to watch.

Idk I think Admiral can play at the next level. After he comes back for one more season though.

Possibly, if he improves as much between this year and next as he did from last year to this one. His size is always going to hurt him though and I don't think he'll grow 2 inches.

Admiral has improved his shooting if he improves is ball handling he might could play point guard in the NBA. Sounds plausible(?).

Kyle Alexander is the guy we need to worry about leaving early. Many project him as a late 1st round pick. Give loyola credit but with KA we win that game imo

Unless he becomes a double-double machine who also is a 3 pt specialist, he might have a chance. Otherwise, I don’t think Admiral does anything particularly ‘elite’. Don’t get me wrong, he’s ‘really’ good in a lot of areas, but he’s primarily missing being able to guard quicker, taller players and also doesn’t have explosive athletism.

True story. Not sure why they even wrote that article about Admiral and Grant coming back. NBA teams aren’t currently pursuing either one of them. KA has a much higher draft stock then either one of them.

That's basketball. Only thing I am thinking about now is how they build on this year. If one player being out causes a 3 seed to lose to a 14, the 3 has more work to do. But I am thankful for how well they played through the season. Yeah, I am disappointed in the loss but it finally seems they are moving in the right direction.

In my opinion, all the post players need to work on their offensive arsenals because Walker scored the only basket last night and Loyola slumped off the center position and dared them to shoot the ball. Terrific season and a bright future ahead.

The point spread indicated that the seeding wasn't accurate. It would have been even narrower or possibly favoring Loyola had Alexander not been a game time decision.

BTW, TN blew out the #14 seed on Thursday. LC is an 11.

I am extremely proud of the Vols and their valiant rally to take the lead. Every team but one will experience a disappointing end to their last game. Loyola is one of the best fundamental teams I saw in the tournament and the played a great game. Their ancient mascot may will them a couple more wins in the tourney. Vols were not completely on their game but Loyola caused much of that. Exciting game and no reason for vol team or fans to hang their heads.
