Does anyone know of any possible recruits trending our way for next season? We play hard but with our level of talent we have little if any margin for error. Also we are criminally undersized. Our one player who isn’t short for his position was out and it showed. I think we are 1 or 2 players away from competing for a Championship. Players like Fulkerson will never be able to compete at this level.

The answer that you seek can be found in the Recruiting thread, Grasshoppa.

well, nothing has changed from the beginning of the season and see what was accomplished...it hasn't been a secret we were undersized, but look what was accomplished with the size we have...jus' sayin'...

PS. I, too, am looking for that 300Lb, 7 footer, with soft hands and quick feet...two would be better...:)

Agree Fulkerson is a long shot to play low post unless he can add 20-30 pounds. That would be difficult with his frame. Would have more of a chance at 3 if he can't add the bulk.
Give me a consistent shooting guard or a rugged low post or both.

Fulk didn’t see the floor in the 2nd half iirc, door is open for Kent if he can bring something...also curious if a full off season healthy helps Fulk.

Fulkerson isn't a 5, but he was forced into that role yesterday. He was giving up 50 pounds and several inches going against the LC center. Kent would have been a better option yesterday. Maybe if Kent had been used, TN would still be alive.

The issue is Fulk also isn’t a 3 or 4, he has offensive game outside of 5’ and his handlers aren’t that of a 3/4 and neither is his defense...so he’s forced to play the 5, he either needs to bulk up or make some serious changes to his game to be effective at this level.

He's a 4 that runs the floor and disrupts passing lanes. He can be effective with Williams at the 5 versus opponents that don't have real large low posts. He can be paired with Walker as an effective backup post pairing to spell Williams/Alexander. Walker and Fulkerson are both very good at passing the ball and running the court. Fulkerson's broken wrist likely interfered with his ability to catch the ball this year. The shoulder surgery on his shooting arm interfered with his outside shot... however his free throw shooting looked better despite the wrist, elbow, and shoulder surgeries.

The issue with him being a 4 is that Grant gets most his minutes there and Schofield gets some as well...not much room for Fulky at the 4.

Yes. That's why he'd be more effective paired with Williams versus opponents that are smaller in the paint. Despite what some try to fabricate, I'm not expecting Fulkerson to be a dominating starter. But he has huge upside as a role player coming off of the bench. His combination of length and going full tilt from baseline to baseline can create matchup problems for opponents. He still has 3 years left. After Barnes helps him develop an outside shot he will be more effective on the offensive end. He can already post up and score near the basket (with either hand).
