Who's drawing the assignment on this white boy? He can jump.

Luke Maye College Stats | College Basketball at Sports-Reference.com

I'm guessing Admiral, but he's been hurt. Or maybe Bowden. Both give up 3 or 4 inches of height. It might be a good time to use a zone and hope that they struggle knocking down 3s in the TBA. But the Dean Dome might have similar optics... the perspective might not be a factor at all. Without looking at their stats, I'm sure they have no shortage of 3-point threats.

Walker, Williams, Alexander, and Fulkerson probably can't chase him on the perimeter. Bone, Turner, Daniel, and Darrington all give up too much size.

I'll tell you who could become an instant legend. Pons seems to be the physical matchup to Luke Maye. He's got two weeks to prepare.

Pons...he's got some hops...could be the missing link...at least they'll get a couple days between games...quite a stretch run...is three out of four asking too much...:)

KenPom predictor has us favored in all of the remaining OOC games.

Lipscomb 93%
UNC 52%
Furman 93%
@Wake Forest 62%
@Iowa St 55%

This would give us a 11-1 OOC record :)

3.55-1.45

Heck, a 10-2 OOC record would be amazing. But yeah, let's shoot for 11-1

Not sure I like the spacing between GT and UNC. But I image CRB would rather them stay fresh before the meat of the season starts, and risk a little rust between games.

Can't afford a loss to Wake Forest...they've been beat by a plethora of terrible teams already.

8-4 was my hope, now I expect at least 9-3...anything better would be gravy.

I would use a combination of Alexander and Fulkerson and Walker and Williams on Mays and put Pons on him if there is extensive foul trouble on the other bigs guarding Mays.

It doesn't look like Pons is ready to help out at all. Walker and Fulkerson have only seen limited minutes. How do our 8 regulars match up? I have a feeling that TN might give up 3 or 4 inches of height across the board with Bone, Daniel, Darrington, Turner, Williams, and Schofield. Alexander might be the only player not at a serious height disadvantage. Depends who Bowden is assigned to... Maye is about 6'8" and Bowden is about 6'5". I'd like our odds a lot better if Fulkerson was further along. Maybe Walker breaks out. Williams is going to be tested and needs some support from somewhere... whether it's down low or on the perimeter.

I fully expect to see grant get some possessions guarding luke.

Can he effectively chase him on the perimeter though? It's going to be a tough matchup for TN. Pons is the best physical matchup but isn't nearly ready. I bet we see some extended 2-3 zone with Alexander trying to protect the rim. Might even dust off a 1-3-1 on a few possessions. UNC will find the gaps though. It could get ugly if a 9th and maybe 10th player doesn't emerge. Walker and/or Fulk?

May just have to hope that your bugs have Williams back if he happens to beat him. Zone would be ideal, but you don’t want to give unc any good looks at the basket from 3. Unlike Lipscomb, if they’re open they will probably make it. Have to keep the ball out of Joel Berry’s hands, and hope you can contain luke

Luke Maye averages as many rebounds (10.5) as their 2nd and 3rd guys combined. It would be awesome to get him into early foul trouble.

As a team UNC is only hitting 70% of their free throws. That's mainly becayse Maye takes a lot of them and is only at 58%.

They hit 40% of their 3-point attempts. Maye, Berry, and Williams are 56 of 125.
