In how many of those games did we have a double digit lead?

No idea, but just to be clear, my point is about schedule strength, not to knock the team's record.

I don't know how it compares to other teams around the country but that seems like a lot of games against Sweet 16 teams.

Very tough schedule.

One thing I do like about Barnes, he's not afraid to schedule tough competition. It's great for our young guys to get experience in tough games.

Beat unc and Oregon and we might be dancing right now. (Who knows if the collapse would've still happened)

Glad we played some tough competition. Should help our guys out in the long run.

aren't schedules decided upon years in advance? Barnes would have very little to do with this past schedule

No, basketball is largely decided the season/offseason before with the exception of home/away series. Barnes is responsible for the UNC home/away, GT home/away and the Gonzaga home/away (both neutral site games) though. UNC was scheduled last season, Gonzaga and GT the summer before last IIRC.

Football is different.

He's just following a tradition a decade ago when RPI became a factor. Barnes isn't doing anything ground breaking there.

I do truly like his tough talk at the end of the year. About how losing needs to matter more.

It's a chicken and egg thing though right? You've got to find the players who have that trait....or generate it through your technique.

I also believe he was talking about our ho hum "give it 5 years" "our history is mediocre so we should accept it" fanbase.
