TJ Cromer is lighting it up versus Miss State. He's listed as a 6'3" forward. Shembari might get the early assignment, but it could be an opportunity for Admiral to step up. Then again Bowden might get matched up with him. Actually after thinking about it... Hubbs III.

Peter Jurkin 7' senior from South Sudan. Alexander assignment?

Cromer is their only player averaging double digit PPG

ETSU Stats

Banks, Glass, and Mosquera-Perea (6'7", 6'8", 6'9" 215, 205, 225) are their leading rebounders. Maybe the 7 footer won't be a problem... 2.0 PPG.

ETSU looks decent and they have size...but Miss St looks pretty bad considering all of the 4/5 stars Howland has acquired.

I watched the MSU-ETSU game and ETSU loves to run up and down the floor along with taking a lot of three point shots. Cromer is a dangerous player for them and Forbes has them at 8-2 after the win in Starkville.

It won't be an easy game.

Regarding Cromer, he was a 3rd team Juco All-American who made the All-SoCon team by both the coaches (first team) and media (second team) and was named to the SoCon All-Tournament team last year. Bradford also made the All Tournament team.
Regarding Cromer being the only one averaging double digits, the Bucs average 79 points a game so that's the rest of the story.
The two starters, Perea and Glass are fifth year seniors.
Walters was a 1st team NJCAA All-American and Payne was a 2nd team and they come off the bench.
With they layups they missed, ETSU should have won by 15.
Mario Keglar, the 4* freshman who started and scored 12 against the Bucs, would have joined the Vols this year unfortunately.

John Rothstein just tweeted, "The two top teams in the SOCON --- Chattanooga and East Tennessee State --- have now each won a buy game. Two very good mid-majors."

Talked with coach Forbes this afternoon. He was wearing it out on an elliptical machine at the gym. Very excited after MSU game.

Last summer he personally delivered 4 season tickets ordered by a friend. Drove up to house gave them out and thanked my buddy for supporting the team. You know Steve may have had more to do with pearl's success than people realize.

Bucs are fun team to watch. Should be good matchup with Vols. both teams have impressed me.

Duh, aren't we the Vols of Knoxville? Well, the Buccaneers of Johnson City have taken over 1st place in the pre-season SouCon standings with Chattanooga's 76-74 loss to Vandy in the last 10 seconds of that game and their win over Coach T's old school.

Jurkin is candy soft
Little enlightenment here. Peter Jurkin has played in only 6 of the 11 games averaging 8.5 minutes in those. Mosquera-Perea, the 6'9", 230# forward who played 3 years at Indiana (20 minutes his last year) and the starter was rated the #43 recruit in the nation by Rivals out of high school. His running mate, 6'8", 220# Tevin Glass, was with Forbes in junior college, at Wichita State, and at ETSU. Oh, yeah, 3 Juco All-Americans at the guard position and only one starts but all see a lot of minutes. Two of the starters, Merriweather and the 6'4" point guard Bradford were there when Forbes arrived. The team is better than last years 24-13 team.

TBA is better.

GO VOLS, **** the bucks.

Some would argue that a home arena(even with a small capacity) is much more desirable than a huge 3/4 empty behemoth.

With our attendance of the past couple years, Stokely would have been a better homecourt than TBA. If you're filling it up like Bruce Pearl did, TBA is awesome. Not so much with 6,000 scattered in the seats.

For anyone that watched ETSU games in the Minidome, a renovated Freedom Hall is a jewel.
