This is just my opinion. So shoot away.

Top 4 in talent. In no order.

LSU
Vandy
Texas A&M
KY

Bottom 4 in talent. In no order.

Miss State
Bama
Miz
TN

Teams in the middle. In no order.

SC
Ole Miss
AU
FL
GA
Ark

I think the SEC gets 5 teams in the NCAA. But we will see.

Kentucky and A&M for sure. Everyone else is questionable, either because of the number of loses or very poor sos.

This looks way more realistic than the op's list. MSU has a MCD's AA and a couple other decent players. Howland just is a horrible offensive coach.

Which would also suggest that maybe Stallings isn't as bad as a lot of people think.

Nah, he's terrible. Guy is sub .500 in the SEC for 16 plus seasons. I doubt any coach in league history has had such a long run of mediocrity.

How so? He averaged 10ppg as a junior, yes he's tearing it up as a senior but so is Buddy Hield who was a 3* ~160 ranked guy, they put in the work and got better.

As a juco getting those 2 years would be plenty worthy of a 4star and maybe even a 5 star. No doubt about it

The top 4 teams as far as talent in the SEC are.........

1. Texas A&M
2.LSU
3. South Carolina
4. Kentucky

These are the teams that will certainly get into the NCAA Tournament.

Thoughts?

I don't care about rankings out if high school in this context. Vandy is 100% in the top 4. The nba draft will prove that

Vandy and A&M would be my 2 SEC picks to make the deepest run in the tournament.

Punter is not a 5* talent. He's a great scorer on a bad team. He's also a senior.

I think he's a 3* guy. His first three years proved that.

Coming out of juco was my point

4star for sure maybe a 5

Do they even rank juco guys in hoops?

Yes. Punter was a 3*.

I don't have time to do this but I would bet that if you went back over the last 10 years you could find some 3* guys that averaged 17+ for some pretty bad SEC teams, especially as upperclassman.

Any kid that was ranked a 3star and 2 years later is a top 10 scorer in the country was underrated
