If Arky beats USCe tomorrow night, it looks like we are safe from playing the first night. Right now we would be the 10 seed and would play Vandy again..if we win and Bama loses then we would move up to 9 and play Florida..we will need to win that game to have a chance at the NIT imo

Vandy plays at Ole Miss Sat
Alabama plays at A&M
Florida plays at UK

I said the same thing earlier about, if we won tonight, needing one in the SECt to make the NIT. But I wasn't thinking about Devoe being on that committee. I know technically he's only one vote, but as impressive looking a win as this one was if we can win Sat. I believe theirs a chance we'd squeeze in the NIT.

My guess is that we will meet vandy in an 8-9 which would be a very interesting rematch considering the games this season. Regardless KY should roll whoever comes out the winner lest we see a performance of the decade type game.

If we beat South Carolina and Alabama and Vanderbilt lose on Saturday, that will make for some interesting seeding for the SEC Tournament and since the tournament is being played in Nashville, I think UT, Vanderbilt and Kentucky might have the biggest contingent of fans at the tournament.

Speculation is useless.
Let's just wait and see how the season plays out.
Then we'll know who we'll meet in the tournament.

Vandy never brings that many fans and they're only a few miles down the road. UT will have a decent contingent, but it'll 90% blue in there.

Vandy won over MSU tonight and has the tiebreaker over Florida..so unless UF beats UK and Vandy loses at UM then the Commodes will be the 7th seed..we will play them unless we win and Bama loses to A&M..if that happens we would be the 9 seed and would play the Gators

not good....I think we need the USC win and one SECT win to make it to the NIT...was hoping for Vandy in the 8-9 as our best shot...UF can still be scary good at times, we saw that when we just played them...anything can happen though...just have to come out firing for a few games

We looked pretty bad against LSu the first time too. Just can't tell

I think we really need to get the 10 seed to make a little noise in the tourney. We need to take any win we can get with this team so need to win Saturday! But hope bama does too so that will get us the 10 seed and another crack at vandy! Then arky instead of uk looks a lot better for the 2nd game, it will be interesting to see if we make the nit if we finish 17-15

Here are all the scenarios for if Tennessee wins Saturday as best I can tell.

For some tiebreakers I assumed Arkansas finishes second, giving Florida the tie breaker over Vandy.


If the VOLS lose, they would finish 10th (as long as Arkansas beats SC Thursday night) and play Florida unless Florida loses to Kentucky and Vandy beats Ole Miss. Then Tennessee would face Vandy.

I feel pretty good that this is all correct but if you see anything, point it out and I will try to fix it.

everything looks right to me...I am not even entertaining a loss to South Carolina for us because that would drop us to 16 losses after the SECT and I think we would be done when it comes to the NIT...and UF will lose to UK...so that leaves the Vandy and Alabama games where both will be on the road and underdogs...so if all 3 lose we sneak into the 8-9 game versus Vandy...hopefully that would be enough because we would end with UK and a 17-15 record...not sure how many SEC teams the NIT would take as well...I would now be cheering for LSU to win games and stay in the Big Dance...give the SEC 6 Tourney teams and hopefully 4 NIT teams...though Florida may or may not even take a bid if they are eligible...Alabama might not either, because Grant is guaranteed to be fired for not leading them to the dance yet again...leaving the VOLS and Vandy yet again in the NIT mix...lol

if UF and Vandy both win or lose, wouldn't Vandy get the tiebreaker? They split in regular season but Vandy has better overall record
edit..nevermind I see the tiebreaker is "best win"

If South Carolina loses tonight (they're slight underdogs) it takes the 11 off the table

Regardless of our seed, we'll almost certainly be playing vandy or florida.

Best case scenario in my mind is to get the 10 seed and play vandy in the first round. Which means bama needs to win this weekend.
