Mark Tennessee's first true road win of the Donnie Tyndall era.

Make Tennessee 4-3 in its last 7 road SEC games.

Give Donnie Tyndall a 3-3 head coaching record against SEC teams.

Give Tyndall his 29th win away from home dating to the start of the 2012-13 season.

Would be nice to start 1-0 in SEC play, great chance to do it, State isn't very good. Go Vols!

I think its very important for Tennessee to have a faster start than in recent games. Mississippi State is a little mystery right now. Losing games they shouldn't and winning games you don't think they have a shot. Solid defense is key. Hubbs and Punter must come to play. Mostella I think is key also. Richardson most likely gets his points. But these 3 have to provide a spark. Go Vols. Tennessee 64 M.S.U. 59

Critical to get this win to go 9-9 or better in conference. KY will be a tough out and Miss State is the easiest away game.

9-9 guarantees a winning record in 2014-15. 8-10 guarantees .500 or better.

I'm heading down to StarkVegas to watch my Vols play. Living in west tn this will be probably my only game this year. I'll be there cheering for fat boy Tyndall and the boys !

Go Vols!

Getting an SEC Road win to start the season would be huge for our confidence and chances at a winning SEC season!

Win the games you can/are suppose to and steal a few you shouldn't. I wanna see our defense really harass Miss St. early and often. Using really active hands while avoiding the stupid reaches from 40 ft out. If we do that, make some shots and force a few turnovers I can see UT being up 10-15 by halftime. However, we need to start SEC play with a win, any way we can get it.

This game will tell us a lot about where this team's ceiling is. A loss tonight and it's probably going to be a winless season on the road. There won't be an easier away game than this one.

Game day! Need to get this win! As we have bama coming in Saturday who beat Texas a&m by 20 last night so that could be a tough game! Deff can't start 0-2 in league play, need the win tonight! Go vols!!!

This team really needs to get out to a fast start with its SEC schedule.

@MSU
Alabama
Arkansas
@Mizzou
@USC
A&M
@Arkansas
Auburn
MSU

If they keep playing well at home, they could legitimately start 7-2 or 6-3 in the first 9 games. At Arkansas and at USC will be tough.

I hope to see a convincing win tonight. A one point win is fine, too, but I'd like the boys to announce to the rest of the conference they are for real.
