With the UT staff's connections to Missisisippi, we could get a few players from there for future rosters.

Also, Mississippi guard Quinndary Weatherspoon pulled in an offer this week. He's got most of the SEC West schools on him already and Tennessee has a tie there with Al Pinkins who had been recruiting him to Ole Miss.

Quinndary Weatherspoon's (Camden, MS) High School Basketball Stats

Quinndary is a skilled and athletic wing. He uses a quick first step to get to the basket, where he uses his long arms and explosiveness to finish at the rim. He has good ball skills and can play point guard when needed, which enhances his worth as a college prospect. He also active on the glass, where he finishes several plays off missed shots by teammates. He has become an explosive high volume scorer and consistent long range shooter.

On Saturday night, Weatherspoon was on fire hitting NBA style three’s and picking up and-one’s while driving to the basket. Against Team United he scored 23 points on 9-13 shooting and drew several oooh’s and aaah’s from the crowd. While Weatherspoon averaged 18.5 points per game, he struggled with his outside shooting in the other three games. Despite making 4-6 in his efficient performance against Team United he finished the weekend just 5-27. Weatherspoon picked up his first offers from Mississippi State and Middle Tennessee State after the Real Deal In the Rock tournament but now has interest from Tennessee and Wake Forest.

@jeffborzello: Liked Quinndary Weatherspoon in Sacramento back in April, playing well again this week. Borderline top-100 kid.


@EvanDaniels: Quinndary Weatherspoon impressed in the spring and he's at it again in July. 6-5 wing that can really score the ball.
