How did that happen? Remember me saying we needed to stay out of a play in game in another thread! We didn't and the chances of advancing diminished considerably. We play a tough Iowa team in Ohio two days before we play the 6 seed UMass. Then we travel to Raleigh while UMass is already preparing for Tennessee. We have no time to prepare for them before we play. They get to watch us play Iowa while we see nothing. And guess what, if we won those two, we play the winner of Duke and Mercer, the team that beat us in the NIT in Knoxville. Putting those other teams ahead of us was a joke. When they showed the last four in, our SOS was 42, the others in the 50's. Just looked out of place. We got no respect at all!

A First Four team has advanced to the round of 32 every year. I don't see any reason why it couldn't be UT.

Plus we destroyed UMass last year with pretty much the same roster.

“@patrickbrownTFP: this is the fourth year of the 'First Four.' each year one of those winners has reached at least the round of 32.”

Reading their message board, they don't sound confident at all. According to them they don't match up well with us. Stokes needs a big double double! GO VOLS!!!

A play-in game is better than no game at all. The last couple of years we watched the selection show and didn't see our name in the bracket. Those teams that barely missed making the tourney and they would love to be in our position. Perspective. We can beat Iowa and we will.

First game in Dayton on Wednesday at 9:10 pm on TruTV. I believe it is channel 242 on Dish. If we go on to play Duke it will be on Sunday in Raleigh--practically a home game for them.

I predicted an 11 seed and that's what we will be after we dispose of Iowa. Then Um ASS.

Go Vols!

We should of won more games. Let's be real here. And the 2 games we lost to Texas A/M was bad.

That's what happens when you only beat two tourney teams and lose 7 games in one of the weakest conferences

The whole play-in game thing is perplexing anyway. They originally added the play-in games because they thought too many of the rinky-dink conferences were taking bids from legitimate at-large teams. It makes no sense to make two 11th seeds "play in". However, just play like we have been and we'll be taking on Duke.

Well we beat down non tourney teams and lose to tourney teams lately? How is that anything of a gameplan for us?

If we lose the play-in game, is that considered one-and-done or is it more like none-and-done?

Shut down defense and crash the boards. If we do even what we did yesterday, we beat both Iowa and UMass by double figures.
