As he walked off the court, Maymon said something to official Pat Adams that Adams didn't like; he hit Maymon with a technical and then stared the player down for a few seconds afterward. Maymon's foul was bad, and his decision to question it was, too, but the technical looked like a textbook officiating bluster.

Just confirms what i already thought but nice to see a high ranking ESPN person agree.

Still don't think that play costed us. We scored 14 points in 20 minutes. Sure it was a 4 point swing but we showed we couldn't take it to the basket and score.

That play turned the tide in Florida's favor the rest of the game.

The foul was questionable to begin with, but the technical then meant we had no Maymon for the rest of the game.

We went from tied to down two possessions from one referee's decision in the closing minutes of the game. That referee blunder cost us dearly.

Come to think of it, the last 2 times I felt like we got screwed by the refs in the final seconds, we were wearing the Smokey Gray.

Florida is this years golden boys so naturally you are not getting those calls. Doesn't change the fact we looked scared in the second half.

Down 4 with 4 minutes left is not sealing the deal. We had ample time to get back in. We made some stops and were stupid on the possessions.

Agree. What costs us the game was the inability to shoot from the outside. What did they shoot; about 0 for 20 from 10 feet and out?

Down 4 with 4 minutes left in a defensive slugfest is a pretty big deal. Not to mention having to comeback without our senior leader on the floor.

We didnt do ourselves any favors, but that call definitely tilted the win probability significantly in their favor.

The Smokey Gray's jinxed us. You don't change when you are in a win streak. Just one more bad decision.

The T was a big deal but giving away the 3 at the end of the half was truly the beginning of the end. Worst 2nd half the Vols have played all season. I will be interested to see how they respond if they make the tournament. Keep playing D and inside-out offense and you can advance. Play like we did earlier in the year and in the 2nd half against Florida and they lose the first game be it play in or otherwise.

What should have happened the foul (assuming a foul should have been called at all) should have been on Florida with Tennessee on the other shooting free throws. So in reality it is a possible 6 point swing assuming Maymon makes his free throws.

It was not the 4 points alone that costed us the game. It was losing maymon, the momentum change and the adversity.

Maybe the ref shouldn't make it about himself.

I agree. This was a pissant call. Maymon may have been mouthing but he was walking away. You don't T a player up and kick him out of the game in an intense, hard-fought battle over a little lip. Nobody knows what would have happened had Maymon stayed in the game, but the ref made that immaterial.
