With all talk of a NCAA tournament bid, and what Tennessee will need to do, I thought it would be helpful to have handy a resume comparison. I will try to keep this as updated as possible, and for this to be as helpful as possible I will surely miss some teams or updates, so please feel free to help.

UVA is dancing unless they lose both games this wk.

Good stuff, thanks for the update (s).

I think if you look at those numbers without bias, we have one of the top 3 resumes of that whole group. Our combination of strength of schedule (OOC as well) and top 100 wins may be the best of that whole group. I don't see how many can argue that. Maybe I am just biased.

Great job to the staff for scheduling good teams. That Georgetown loss is probably better than a win to a 200+ team.

Sure, it would be nice if we exchange Kennesaw and Presbyterian for a team in the 150-200 range, but our resume is still better than many of those teams. Each year is different, but the committee has historically shown that SOS is huge. Too bad so many overreacted yesterday.

Seems like Virginia is as bipolar as we are. Maybe more. Their whole schedule is filled with either "Holy Shat" wins or "WTf" losses.

UVA playing BC right now, UVA up one in the second half, this would be a bad loss for UVA.

I don't have espn basketball plan but following on espn.com. Cavs a lock if they win one of next three games imo. ACC is a better conference than SEC
Plus beat Duke.

Twenty one wins will get UVA to dance, but we have better resume than some of these other teams u listed. I dislike uva for various reasons but think they are in.JMO.

Thanks again.

Well...they just lost to BC, and that qualifies as a bad loss, worse than ours to UGA.

They have some really bad losses, including today. I don't think they are a lock.

I think they get in somehow. They have more bad losses than us but they have more quality wins than us as well. I think calban thinks the same as you though. I can see it going both ways but for some reason before them losing today I felt they would get in. I still say we have a lot of work to do as well. Losing to uga twice is inexcusable. Heck we've lost 6 times to bubble teams if I'm not wrong. We lost to Bama, ole miss x 2, ky 1, Virginia, and Arkansas.

Virginia has more good wins, but they have some head scratching losses. I think UT only has 2 really head scratching losses and that is to UGA. The one at home I think we would've won if Golden would've been healthy. The home loss to Ole Miss is bad IMO because of the margin, but not according to RPI.

If losing to GA inexcusable... What is this

Just saw that and happy they lost. I am from Roanoke, VA and was a tar heel fan my yrs there. I transferred to UT in 1992 and been an avid Vol fan since. All I heard growing up was UVA and Ralph Sampson and VA Tech football in late 80s and 90s .
The Vols were not on tv much in VA in the 70s and 80s, although I do recall watching vols beat cavs in sugar bowl, 89 I think.

what do the vols need to do to receive a bid? I say win next two and one in sec tourney, two wins in tourney would be a lock imo.

I would say worse only that they have more quality wins than us and they also beat us.
