Perimeter defense is what killed us last night.
Wiltjer standing wide open on just about every shot he took. McBee on Mays didn't help either. | The first half TOs were bad, 2nd half was better. UK has one threat outside, and some how we continued to lose him. |

Going back a little further in history (last 25 years), Steve Spurrier brought in a style of football from another conference against 11 other teams who did it differently and built an SEC powerhouse football program.
This would be the antithesis to your theory that an unfamiliar system can't work amongst a group of teams that traditionally play a certain brand. |

Pushing the tempo seemed like a really good idea at a time when we thought we were a good defensive team. Seeing now over the last several games (Memphis, Ole Miss, and UK in particular), we just give the other team more possessions to score by pushing the tempo. As a result, those teams scored an average of 84 points on us shooting a combined 43.4% from the field.
Not signs of a good defensive team. | It was pointed out in a stat during a recent game that we are near the bottom of the conference in defensive efficiency - points per possession. To your point, we never were good defensively, we just limited the number of possessions to keep the score low. It was fools gold all along. |

Maybe cuonzo doesn't understand that he has a TO to burn in the first half. I wouldn't be surprised. |
