Nowadays, neither football nor men's basketball programs (the high-profile sports) can afford more than 3 seasons of empty seats, the resulting loss of revenue, loss of interest, disgruntled fans, or the attendant embarrassment of falling to the bottom of a conference in which you were once a contender. As the embarrassment spreads, the coach's job security becomes less and less stable.

I agree. You should give a coach at least 3 years (unless they are really bad) to win. Schools can't afford to wait any longer for results.

Crean came to a program that only had two walk ons returning and was a proven final four coach. Not sure there are similarities.

For him to improve his game...There are other players that get double teamed and can still score. His effort is what is lacking.
