Awesome article!

Brendan F. Quinn: Cuonzo Martin hopes trip will teach lesson on growth » GoVolsXtra

The fact he doesn't give these guys a curfew, allows them to drink while there, and trusts them to make the right decision. No wonder this guy comes across great with parents, WOW he's impressive.

"We didn't start talking about how you handle yourself on a trip when we got to Italy," Martin said Saturday after two hours spent strolling the grounds of the Leaning Tower of Pisa. "When I took over the program, it became about how you handle your business. Those are daily conversations. It's not, 'OK, we're on a trip, let's act a certain way.' It's too late if you're doing that."
Real **** right here.

The old school method of, I'll trust you until you give me reason not to, and if that time occurs, its going to suck for you.

lol..Pretty awesome. Thanks for posting. Guy has a great attitude. I can see why parents and recruits would like him so much. He seems very laid back and down to earth. I love it.

I'm telling you, our program is going to reach new heights under Zo. The man is an amazing teacher of life skills and basketball.

Reminds me of the exchange in last years UConn game (I think) where Cam looked over to CCM as he coming down the floor and CCM said something to the effect of "don't look over here, I can't help you". (paraphrasing)

Just got around to reading the article. To be honest, I never really saw much value in Martin considering a player's character when he recruits them. But it's all coming full circle now. Martin trusts his players enough to give them those liberties on this trip. To see some of the quotes in the article, it's almost a little mind boggling. Martin seems like he as absolutely 0 problems with instilling discipline.

It is going to be so awesome if our record reflects the hard work Martin is putting in. This coach is pretty easy to like, and I hope he we'll have the opportunity to continue supporting him here at UT. VOLS!!
