Chievous red-shirted, Washpun was a disaster, Yemi had his moments but basically looked like what you thought a 3* big man, new to basketball would look like. Richardson is the only one that produced anything on a consistant basis and his stat line isn't much to write home about. What do people expect Martin to say about these kids? He isn't a sunshine pumper, but he isn't going to drag his own guys through the mud to the media, especially the ones he just recruited. Almost every comment I have seen Martin make about his players are generalities, his supposed comment, "that Armani is underrated and couldnt wait till people get to see him play," doesn't say anything more than Cuonzo thinks the kid can play in the SEC. He isn't promising this year, or next year, or even the one after that. Only that Moore was underrated (not hard considering he was a 2*) and Martin thinks he can play. Well, I hope so since he gave the kid a scholarship. But let's not forget, he thought Washpun could contribute too. I would just like to see them play, in Italy and the exhibition games, before people start assuming that any of the new guys are going to do more than occupy a seat on the bench or don a red-shirt. |

He talked up his 4 freshman last year and he will probably talk up the guys he signs next year. He gave them scholarships after all so he must think they can play. But assuming that every guy he signs will play right away isn't practical. |
