Young is a case of "looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane". If he can get tougher and stay focused for 40 minutes, he's an NBA player.

Based off of what we saw from him when we played UF twice last season, seems like a joke that he's even projected in the first round

Yeah, definitely two of his worst games. He has the natural talent though. Needs to put it all together.

Yeah, he definitely has it in him. I just love that we SINCERELY embarrassed UF last season when they had 2 probable lottery picks.

I do think Poythress will easily go in the Top 10. He strikes me as more NBA-ready than Noel, who seems like more of a work-in-progress. Poythress' game is very advanced for someone with his size and athleticism, and he'll be Kentucky's best player next year, imo. Noel will probably go higher in the draft because of his higher ceiling, though.

And hopefully Young can play like a lottery pick next season for us. We're going to need him to step up in a big way. It's just a matter of consistency for him.
I think Nerlans Noel is a better shot blocker than Davis.

Regardless of how talented Noel may be, I'll be very surprised if he's able to match what Davis did last year. That's no knock on Noel, either. Davis was a once-in-a-generation talent with his combination of length, athleticism, and skill.

I sure pray Noel is nothing like Davis. Hopefully we don't see a player like him for a long, long time because he was something special. Amazing to watch.

What makes you think that? He very well could be, but Davis was the best freshman shot blocker in what, 20 years, 50 years, ever???

To expect Noel to come in and beat that seems like a long shot. IMO UK fans will be a bit disappointed since many are expecting AD 2.0. Noel has very little offensive game, and doesn't have the discipline to stay on the ground or out of foul trouble like AD did.

When was the last time a UK player had to worry about foul trouble?

Haha good point. AD did get into it a few times last year (2 or 3) but they had competent people behind him. They are thin this year, ive been saying it awhile and everyone seems to be dismissing it.

Harrow
Goodwin
Poythress
Wiltjer
Noel/Cauley

Yes those 6 are talented(I'm not sold on Wiltjer and will take him on the floor anyday over Terrence jones), but what about behind them. Sure thing years UK team only played 6 or 7, but your 6th man was maybe the MVP in miller. Is freshman Cauley Going to duplicate that? How about walk one twanny beckham who'll get minutes? Or the career benchwarmer Jon Hood? They are and always will be talented, but they're starting a sophomore transfer, atleast 3 freshman, and a sophomore who saw limited minutes last year. Also, I'm convinced miller last year and liggins Harrellson, Patterson and Stevens in years past had as much to do with the success of the team as the frosh. Those upperclassmen helped gel the team and lead the way, this team doesn't have that. You have no upperclassmen with ANY experience what so ever, how is that going to translate?

I'm not suggesting they miss the NCAA or anything, but the rankings of top 5 IMO are ridiculous. I see the SEC being pretty open in the top 4/5 this year, and I see Kentucky being ranked 15-20 for most of the year.

All of this, plus Calipari has managed to dodge the injury bug for 3 years now at UK. (I'm not sure if he's even had a guy sprain an ankle.) Any injury to a major player and UK has almost no depth to fill in.

Exactly.

An Acl to anyone of those guys and that team looks very different.
