Battier measured 6' 9.5" and 230 lbs at the draft and was a SF who could shoot the lights out. I don't see in any way shape or form how a comparison can be drawn between maymon and battier. Battier was a top 10 pick with great size and measurables, and a great shooting stroke. I don't see the comparison???
I thought the same thing. I mean, Battier was the National Player of the Year...

I love Maymonn, but unless he develops a 15-18 foot jumper, he has no chance of being drafted, much less making a team. Cuonzo is just sticking up for his player. It's more likely Maymonn will play in Europe

You can take all of Chism's "weaknesses" and subtract 2 inches of height and you get Maymon. Maymon might have a better handle but that would be it.
Chism was infinitely a better outside shooter than Maymonn too

Maymon isn't nearly as good as Chism at this point

I don't know that that's a fair statement.

Chisms best year:
12.6ppg 7.2rbd 47%fg

Maymons last year:
12.7ppg 8.1rbd 56%fg

Chism was better arguably better defensively, but I wouldn't say by a huge margin. It's definitely a lot closer than you're making it sound.

Hard to compare stats straight up like that. Pearl liked to score more but had a guard oriented system. I think Chism would have excelled in the motion offense.

Agree it's hard to compare, but well never know. Chism floated outside and I believe that hurt him. His fg% wast very good for a big man, where as maymons is very good. Same could be said for rebounding, chism didn't go after rebounds a aggressively as he should've for a big whereas maymons a monster on the boards.

I'll say this, I don't remember mock drafts having chism(maybe I'm wrong) but were now seeing maymon appear. That should say something.

Chism floated outside or he probably wouldn't have ever got to shoot. And Chism's rebound numbers his junior year were very close to Maymon's.

I'm just an NBA fan dude. Normally this stuff wouldn't bother me, but you are essentially saying I can't be a professional basketball fan because I cheer for more than one team. That's bogus dude.

And FTR, if the Heat and Lakers are both eliminated before the Finals, I'll be changing my icons again. I'M THAT BIG OF AN NBA FAN.
I get what you're saying and you can be a fan of the NBA but saying you'll switch your teams again really means you just hop on the bandwagon team.

I get that, but that hurt his stock IMO. As I said, how many mock drafts had chism being drafted at any point?

Whether its because of the system or not, maymon IMO appears better suited for the NBA than chism was. In any regard, all my OP was, was that chism wasn't clearly much better than maymon is as the poster was saying.

No, it means I will just keep enjoying the playoffs.

Then just keep the NBA logo. Switching from team to team once one of the teams you are "cheering" for gets put out is the definition of a bandwagon fan.
