Former Duke small forward Michael Gbinije is hearing from a number of schools after deciding to transfer.
Keith Stevens of Team Takeover told SNY.tv VCU, Marquette, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Villanova and Rutgers were among the schools that had called on the 6-6 Gbinije.
Stevens said no visits were presently set up.
Gbinije averaged 1.7 points and 0.8 rebounds per game while playing in 19 contests last year at Duke.

I assume he would sit next year if we were to get him, but I'm not sure what year you would list him as. |

| I like the process that is taking place It seems to be a refinement of sorts now, picking up the best talent we can get. Gives me a lot of hope for next season, and a little competition for playing time certainly won't hurt our guys. |

| This kid is solid, very athletic, didn't get a fair shake last year at Duke. K wanted him to stay, but he was going to compete with Alex Murphy this year for PT. |

| Wow. He averaged just a little more than a free throw per game and less than one rebound. Sure hope we don't let this fish swim away. But heck, HE WENT TO DUKE! HE HAS TO BE AWESOME! LET'S GET HIM!!! |

HE HAS TO BE AWESOME! LET'S GET HIM!!! | He also played a total of 9 minutes in the last 15 games of the season. Averaged 5.8 minutes a game. Duke had a three guard lineup and MG sat behind Austin Rivers, #1 recruit in the country, first round draft pick this year. You can interpret stats however you like. Top 30 national recruit, strong defender, great athleticism. Duke coaches and fans were upset he left. He fills a void Duke was lacking on the Wing. His field goal percentage was solid and his stats while he played were good. He didn't get a fair shake last year. Syracuse is a top 5-10 program, they don't take crap players.
