Tennessee should beat MTSU simple as that, no matter what the coach does!

I haven't been dumbed in my life, i hate Facebook, and I'm married. Forget Pearl? I moved on from Pearl when he did what he did.

But, i watched all Pearl's games with ut, and he consistently called timeouts or took a T at the right point during games. The person who said Bruce let teams play thru it is full of ****. He only did that with Lofton's Sr. Squad and Tyler/J.P.'s squad...they had the kind of talent
that could play through bad runs.

Look what Kermit did tonight. Took a technical to fire up his squad. It worked, too.

Anyone defending CCM's lack of emotion, or his inability to adjust to opponent runs is blindly loyal a la the early Dool-Aid drinkers.

I love what CCM did with this team this year, and will support him and the vols next year. However, he hasn't shown me a lot with his lack of timely TO calls and his inability to adjust down the stretch.

CCM did a great job this year and he took the time out to close the season. It was time to work hard. Enough accomplished. Winning the NIT would have proved what we already know. Times are changing and this team will be at a higher level next year.

They over achieved and did well.

Dudes - correct Pearl is gone - long gone - but that still doesn't negate the awful execution and the fact that we got outplayed and without question out coached by a Sun Belt team.

Hat's off to MTSU - who survived some adversity with their best player sitting. At the end of the game they went to the player they recognized as a little of a mismatch and it worked. We went away from the two inside guys that are almost always unstoppable and who foul out most people who try. I would call this very good coaching on the part of A. MTSU and very questionable coaching on the part of B. Our Vols. Maymon and Stokes did appear winded a lot but still that is where I would have taken my chances in the second half instead of our hapless guards shooting. Ole Miss all over again.

They just sleep walked through that last 7 minutes. Golden either was dead tired or just not very interested in defending. McBee might as well been McBrick. They need a better point guard and someone that can hit that open 3 next year. This team was way too offensively challenged to go deep in any tournament. They still did more than i expected. There was a time i didn't think they'd finish above 500.

They just weren't a great team. It's why they were playing in the NIT to begin with. They need more scoring and Stokes to get a year older. Ball handling was atrocious at times also.

Cuonzo needs a Lofton. He's not likely to find one. Unfortunately, our Vol forecast is continued mediocrity, Woe is us.

I agree. True about not using TO's as he should. Not true about using Pearl as his example of a coach that did. Pearl rarely used them until the last 2 minutes unless he was forced to take one after the other team had a 10+ point run.

All the better coaches use them to stop runs. I have seen Coaches Cal, K, Self, Williams, Painter, etc. use 3 TO's in the first half if necessary. Coach Cal used one in the first two minutes of the second half in the last game I think. Coaches Painter and Self were masters using them in their last game and it gave both teams a chance to win/tie in the end. You can tell a coach has too much emotion and is too much of a fan when they don't use one of their most important tools at the right times. Hopefully Coach Zo grows from this as well as the players. At the end of the season the team was going into 5+ minute spells at least twice a game where they lost focus and energy. That has to stop to get to the next level.
