| SCENARIO I: Florida (22-8, 10-5) upsets #1-ranked Kentucky (28-1, 14-0 SEC) on Sunday. With 11 regular season wins and the tiebreaker with Vanderbilt in Florida’s favor, the Gators would finish second no matter what Vanderbilt (21-9, 10-5) does in Knoxville against Tennessee (17-13, 9-6 SEC). If Vanderbilt wins and Florida wins, the Gators would be second by virtue of the win over Kentucky. Vandy finished 0-2 against UK. If Florida wins and Vanderbilt, Tennessee and Alabama (20-9, 9-6 SEC) all finish with 10-6 league records, Alabama would finish fourth and Tennessee would finish fifth thanks to Alabama’s win in the head-to-head with the Vols.
SCENARIO II: Florida loses to Kentucky Sunday while Vanderbilt beats Tennessee and Alabama beats Ole Miss (17-12, 7-8 SEC). Vanderbilt would finish second with 11 SEC wins while Florida and Alabama would each have 10 SEC wins. Florida would finish third by virtue of its head-to-head win over Alabama.
SCENARIO III: Florida loses to Kentucky, Tennessee beats Vanderbilt and Alabama loses to Ole Miss, creating a 3-way tie at 10-6. In that scenario, Tennessee would finish second by virtue of a 3-1 record vs. Florida and Vanderbilt with Vanderbilt (2-2 vs. Florida and UT) second and the Gators in fourth.
SCENARIO IV: Florida loses to Kentucky, Tennessee beats Vanderbilt and Alabama beats Ole Miss, creating a four-way tie at 10-6. In that scenario, Florida finishes second, Vanderbilt finishes third and Alabama finishes fourth by virtue of its head-to-head win over Tennessee. |

"Also, the Vols would still grab the tie-breaker even if Alabama matches the other three with 10 league wins."
basically, UF against UK wins on Sat they are 2nd
If UF loses and Vandy wins, Vandy is 2nd
If UF loses and UT wins, UT is 2nd |

No where does it state Bama with a 2 seed. Only UT,UF and Vandy could get 2 seed. |

| Saw this from Andy Katz on ESPN.
1. Tennessee coach Cuonzo Martin has done a tremendous job. How so? The Vols can actually be the No. 2 seed in the SEC tournament. How? If Tennessee beats Vanderbilt in Knoxville and Florida loses to Kentucky -- both very plausible -- then UT would be the 2-seed, winning a three-way tie at 10-6 with Florida and Vanderbilt or a four-way tie with those two and Alabama if the Tide win at Ole Miss. That’s how important the sweep of the Gators is to Tennessee. What’s amazing is that the Vols would be leapfrogged for an NCAA bid by Vandy, Florida and Alabama.

| Yahoo says the same thing in their Team Report.
A Tennessee win Saturday against Vanderbilt coupled with a Florida loss to Kentucky would lock the Volunteers in a four-way tie with Florida, Alabama and Vanderbilt. The complicated tiebreaker favors the Volunteers in that scenario and would put them in second place. Tennessee Team Report - College Basketball - Rivals.com
Sorry HG, it looks like everyone else says UT gets the 2 seed if we beat Vandy on Saturday and UK beats UF.

No where does it state Bama with a 2 seed. Only UT,UF and Vandy could get 2 seed. | Win or Lose Bama isn't even a factor in the 2nd seed.
UF SID needs to look at the rules:
2. Three-Team Tie (or more). When three or more teams are tied, the following proce- dure will be used in the following order until the tie is broken. If two teams remain tied after a tiebreaker provision, the two-team tiebreaker formula will be used.
A. Best winning percentage of games played among the tied teams (Example: Team A is 3-1, Team B is 2-2 and Team C is 1-3 - - Team A would be seeded highest, Team B second-highest and Team C lowest of the three).
UT and Vandy would have the best record among the 4-way tied teams, and UT would have a slight edge on Vandy in the next tiebreaker...So UT would get the 2nd seed...even if Bama wins. |

| and just to be clear...
Vandy vs UT head to head tie breaker
1. Two-Team Tie. The following procedure will be used in the following order until the tie is broken:
A. Won-lost results of head-to-head competition between the two teams.
B. Won-lost record of the two teams versus the No. 1 seed (and proceeding
through the No. 12 seed, if necessary). C. Coin flip by the Commissioner.
A.UT/Vandy Head to head would be tied
B.UT/Vandy vs UK both 0-2
UT vs UF 2-0 Vandy vs UF 1-1 (thanks for beating them once)

| Bottom Line:
If Tennessee loses to Vandy -- 5 seed.
If Tennessee wins, Alabama wins, Florida loses -- 2 seed
If Tennessee wins, Alabama loses, Florida loses -- 2 seed
If Tennessee wins, Alabama wins, Florida wins -- 5 seed
If Tennessee wins, Alabama loses, Florida wins -- 3 seed |

| So if Vandy is the #3 seed that means we will have to beat them twice in the next week. I don't like our chances doing that, but at least that puts us in a great position to prove we belong. Vandy is a top 20 team with a solid RPI, so if we can beat them twice, we probably won't have to beat UK to get into the NCAA's. |

| Is 3rd the worst we can finish, if we win? If Florida wins they would be 2nd and then we would be 3rd in a three way tie with Bama and Vandy? |
