'13 SG Jajuan Johnson

Jajuan Johnson
6'4" 185lbs
#38 SG

Strengths:
A long athlete, Johnson was simply outstanding as his confidence in his game seemed to rise with every step on the hardwood. He showed a penchant for scoring the basketball from the outside with an adequate stroke and using a good handle was able to finish at the rim in the halfcourt or in transition. His length allowed him to be a dangerous defender, playing the passing lanes or poking the ball from behind. His tock is certainly on the rise.

Weaknesses:
Johnson will need to add strength to his athletic body if he plans on guarding a big time D-I guard in the future. At his size he will also need to work on his decision making with the ball so he can become a valuable commodity playing either guard spot down the road.

Bottom Line:
Johnson had his coming out party this summer (2011) and will soon be featured on recruiting boards on every major basketball office in the country.

-per espn

However, we saw another trio of Memphians making a run at the 2013 rankings. Memphis Southwind shooting guard Jajuan Johnson has always been an excellent shooter but he's added explosive athleticism and scoring off the dribble to his game. Memphis Melrose wing Markel Crawford has now added the ability to shoot from deep to his athletic slashing. Memphis Craigmont point guard Sam Craft is a tough customer and one of the better leaders in his class.

That makes seven Memphis-area prospects that are already showing high major potential.

-rivals

this '13 class of memphis is loaded and guys like crawford and johnson could very easily shoot up the rankings via AAU ball this summer.

Jajuan Johnson... had one of the better inside out games in D1 last season at Purdue. The tandem of Johnson and Etwaun Moore was scary good, even without Robbie Hummel injured and watching from the bench...

Wait a minute, we aren't talking Purdue retrospective recruiting are we?

Name too confusing for VN. Ask anyone that's been around for a while

Was j/k BTNO. When Jajuan Smith played a few years back, people misspelled his name about 30,000 times.

Oh yea we are definitely pursuing and im pretty sure have offered as well. This kid along with Crawford are 2 names that aren't mentioned with the big dogs out of Memphis but they should be.

They are both starting to get some hype though and with good showings on the aau circuit this summer will be right up there with them.

add him and our post would be arguably the best in the sec imo. maymon, stokes, mitchell and hall.

of course we would have to learn to utilize them and get the ball into the post on every trip, but if we did we could definitely do some damage.
